One UI 7 beta not releasing for older devices could be somewhat good news

One UI 7 beta older devices

A leak suggests that Samsung will not launch the One UI 7 beta program for the Galaxy S23 or any of its other premium or mid-range Galaxy devices. Instead, the company will announce the rollout of the stable build directly after the Galaxy S25 Unpacked event in late January. Hence, One UI 7 beta not being released for older devices could be somewhat of good news.

One UI 7 beta not being released for older devices may be good news to some extent

One UI 7 beta not releasing for older devices could be somewhat good news as its first and biggest advantage is stability. By its nature, the behavior and features of the beta program change with each iteration of the OTA update rollout until the Stable rollout is released by the company.

Another benefit of stable updates is that Galaxy devices receive more refined and bug-free new features and improvements, giving you increased performance, stability, and usability.

However, Samsung may adopt a different strategy for One UI 7, updating older Galaxies directly to the stable build. In a previous report, the leaker claimed that the final One UI 7 build will be released in the first or second week of February, which could be announced around the launch of the Galaxy S25.

Among Samsung’s existing devices, the Galaxy S24 and S23 series should be among the first devices to get One UI 7. The update may gradually expand to more devices including the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip series.

What’s new in One UI 7

Samsung One UI 7 brings new ways to customise the Galaxy experience, relive special moments and stay connected. With this update, you can customize your Galaxy phones and tablets further by arranging your Home Screen, Lock Screen and Control Centre in all-new ways.

A new hiking experience with an all-new Now bar in the Home screen and lock screen, similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island element that displays ongoing activities on the phone.

The update also introduces two new features powered by Galaxy AI, the personal intelligence system that unlocks powerful new ways to communicate, work and express yourself, while also protecting your data with an extraordinary step forward for privacy in AI.
