Have you encountered a bootloop issue on your Samsung Galaxy S22? Here’s a quirky solution to temporarily revive it

Galaxy S22 One UI 8

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series was one of the top Android smartphones of its era, ensuring high performance for multitasking and gaming. However, as the phone gets older, many Galaxy S22 series users are facing random bootloops, for which Samsung is replacing the motherboard at a certain cost, as the phone is out of warranty. Now, there is good news, some Samsung users reported that freezing a dead Galaxy S22 can temporarily fix the bootloop issue.

Here’s a solution to temporarily revive bootloop issue on Samsung Galaxy S22

Earlier reports claimed that One UI 6.1 is causing issues on some Galaxy S22 series smartphones. Also, the Korean tech giant is aware of the issue but no official support has been provided yet.

Meanwhile, some good news has emerged on Reddit and Samsung’s community forums, as users have reported in their experience that putting the Samsung Galaxy S22 phone in the freezer helps temporarily get the phone out of the bootloop.

S22U bootloop resolved by placing in freezer

 Problem

What does this imply? Last night my phone just got stuck. Weird but ok. Started rebooting, then I noticed it never actually booted and started rebooting all night. Saw a video suggesting put in the freezer. Well behold it boots up once chilled in the freezer

I didn’t notice a tremendous amount of heat or anything, I didn’t notice a bulge either. What would the freezer be doing allowing it to boot? (it’ll crash again once the OS is loaded for a bit/heated up?)

However, some users pointed out, that their Galaxy S22 went into a bootloop again after warming up, and eventually, the green line issue appeared as well.

Furthermore, Reddit users mentioned that they did not notice any kind of abnormally high heat build-up before placing their phones in the freezer. On the other hand, other users said that placing it in the freezer helped me access it temporarily, but I couldn’t backup anything.

Hey everyone, I’m facing a major issue with my S22 Ultra 512 GB Sky Blue (Exynos) and hoping someone can help before I lose all my data.

TLDR: My phone crashed and went into a boot loop. Putting it in the freezer temporarily helped me access it, but I couldn’t back anything up. The repair center suggested replacing the motherboard, but I’m hoping to find another solution to avoid losing all my data.

When some users sent their phones to Samsung for repair, the company’s repair center suggested replacing the motherboard. As a result, it costs about half of the phone’s purchase price, which is not value for money in 2025. As phone users are hoping to find any other solution to avoid losing all their data.

If the problem persists, it’s best to wait for an official fix or update from Samsung, and keep an eye on the company’s announcements.
