Samsung to rock foldable smartphone market with 200K units of its first Tri-Fold: Report
Samsung is at the forefront of making foldable smartphones. It is the only company that has been consistently selling foldable smartphones globally for the last few years, starting from 2019. Now that it has a strong hold on the dual-fold phone segment, the company is rapidly moving towards bringing tri-fold phones to the market. Now, a report has revealed that Samsung is expected to launch a Galaxy Tri-Fold phone in 2025 with a limited 200k units.
According to the information, Samsung’s 2025 foldable production plan could be 7 million units. Out of this, Samsung can launch 200k units of its Galaxy tri-fold phone in 2025. The report claims that the Samsung tri-fold will bring an innovative G-type look, different from the Huawei tri-foldable smartphone.
Further, the report notes that the the Tri-Fold phone is expected to come with a 10-inch Display when it is fully unfolded, while, the Huawei Mate XT triple foldable smartphone sports 10.2 inches when fully unfolded.
Notably, the Korean technology giant is expected to slightly bring forward the mass production schedule for parts for its existing book-type foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, to secure a stable supply of tri-fold parts.
In addition to 200k units of Samsung Galaxy tri-fold phones in 2025, Samsung’s foldable phone production plan this year is said to be around 7 million units including the Galaxy Z Flip 7 (3 million units), Z Flip FE (900,000 units), and Z Fold 7 (2 million units).
Previous reports have claimed that Samsung’s Tri-Fold patent brings several sensors including a hall sensor, an acceleration sensor, an angular velocity sensor, a gyro sensor, a folding detection sensor, a proximity sensor, a barometric pressure sensor, a magnetic sensor, a biometric sensor, a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, or a fingerprint recognition sensor.
First of its kind for Samsung, the upcoming Galaxy Tri-Fold would set to disrupt the foldable market with its uncompromising specifications, bringing together One UI software user experience, a Camera for Fold, and immersive spatial entertainment, all in an ultra-portable, modern elegant foldable design.
