Samsung launched Galaxy Watch for Kids in the US in collaboration with Google
In collaboration with Google, Samsung has officially introduced its latest innovation, the Galaxy Watch for Kids experience on the Galaxy Watch 7 LTE, powered by Wear OS, offering a host of exciting features and improved design.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch for Kids features Google Family Link, allowing kids to enjoy calls and texts with their family and other approved contacts as well as enjoy teacher-approved apps and watch faces from popular brands right from their wrist without the need for a phone.
It has a wide range of features, making it an attractive option for parent-controlled kids. One of the most impressive features of the Galaxy Watch for kids is that parents can manage the watch via Google Family Link, which allows them to set necessary safety measures and personalize their child’s watch experience – giving parents peace of mind.
This is similar to the Samsung Kids mode on Galaxy phones and tablets, which turns your Galaxy Watch 7 LTE into a child-friendly zone, providing education and entertainment while keeping your kids safe.
With the Family Link app, parents can easily manage watch settings, stay connected, and see where their kids are, keeping the whole family connected. You can set the following things:
- Stay in touch: Determine who your kids can call and message from their watch.
- Manage Google Play apps: It allows you to Approve or block the apps your child can download on their watch. Plus, you can also block an app after it’s installed.b
- View Location on Map: You can view the watch location on the map to see the location of your kids.
- Reduce distractions during school time: You can add boundary functionality during school time to help children focus during class. Additionally, you can manage their schedule and add breaks in the Family Link app.
- Find lost devices: Quickly find lost watches in your Family Link app.
In addition, the two companies have partnered with the popular kids’ brand to bring 20 new teacher-approved apps and watch faces to the Kids section of Google Play. These apps highlight a range of topics — like math, science, history, music, creativity, emotional health, and physical activity — in fun, engaging ways:
- BarbieTM Color Creations app
- Crayola Create & Play app
- Marvel HQ: Super Hero Fun app
- MathTango app
- Rubik’s Cube® watch face
- Tech Deck® watch face
- Rebel Girls Mood Journal app
- Two Whats?! & A Wow!
- Unicorn Academy™ watch faces
Availability
Galaxy Watch for Kids becomes available in the U.S. today, January 22, on the Galaxy Watch 7 LTE model from Samsung.com and on Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T nationwide.

Samsung Galaxy S25 grabs One UI 8.5 Beta 3 with critical fixes and January 2026 security patch
Samsung is rolling out the One UI 8.5 Beta 3 update for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. This latest update is available in Germany, India, South Korea, the UK, and the US, and will be released in more countries soon. The update includes several important fixes and improvements to enhance the overall user experience, as well as carries the January 2026 security patch along with battery life improvements and some additional fixes.
One UI 8.5 Beta 3 can be identified via the PDA build version ending with ZZA3. It’s hitting the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in Beta markets.
Last month, Samsung launched the One UI Beta Program for Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra devices in four countries. At the same time, the company released the first Beta software. Two weeks ago, Samsung distributed the second Beta update, which expanded to India and Poland for key fixes and new features.
As Samsung gears up to start the official rollout, the Galaxy S25 series has received a new Beta software. The One UI 8.5 Beta 3 for the Galaxy S25 series brings fixes for clock display error on the lock screen and issues related to favorites in the phone app.
Users reported that the Now Briefing does not display after the Beta, which has been resolved. Plus, it improved the screen lagging issue when using Live Effect in the gallery.

In addition, the beta release also includes improvements to battery life. The issue of excessive power consumption when certain apps are running has now been fixed. For Galaxy S25 users waiting for the stable version, Beta 3 will feel like a significant upgrade.
