Samsung launches Galaxy S25 Ultra, the thinnest, lightest, and most durable Galaxy S series ever. The company manufactured the Galaxy S25 series using more sustainable and recycled materials, and the company also gave each phone a flat frame.  Galaxy S25 Ultra is the only model to feature Corning Gorilla Armor 2 display protection for its Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, whereas the base Galaxy S25 and S25+ have Glass Victus 2 protection.

Galaxy S25 Ultra boasts new Corning Gorilla Armor 2 display protection

Corning Gorilla Armor 2, engineered specifically for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, is not just glass, but a revolutionary coating material that delivers an unrivalled combination of durability and visual clarity.

Theoretically, Gorilla Glass Armor 2 glass ceramic technology is the biggest achievement ever by Corning in the field of screen protection, but in practice, the company has not given any concrete information about it.

Compared to the Gorilla Armor on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the Gorilla Armor 2 on the Galaxy S25 Ultra offers improved durability. Furthermore, devices equipped with Gorilla Armor 2 are even more capable of withstanding the rough and unpredictable nature of daily life.

Particularly, when dropped on a rough, challenging surface, the company claims that Gorilla Armor 2 is designed to better resist damage such as shattering more effectively than ever before.

In Corning lab tests, S25 Ultra with Gorilla Armor 2 remained protected after being dropped from a height of 2.2 meters onto a concrete surface.

Additionally, it maintained its exceptional scratch resistance, demonstrating 4x greater scratch resistance than competing lithium-aluminosilicate cover glasses with anti-reflective coatings.

“Samsung and Corning have a long history of collaborating to provide consumers with the most advanced and innovative technologies,” said David Velasquez, Vice President and General Manager, Corning® Gorilla® Glass. “With Gorilla Armor 2, we offer consumers an unparalleled user experience with the first durable, optically advanced glass ceramic cover material ever used on a Galaxy mobile device.”
