Galaxy Z Flip 7 chipset

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is one of the best clamshell phones of this year that comes with flagship great features as compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 5. But, it looks like Samsung else planned for its successor Galaxy Z Flip 7, as it will reportedly come with the biggest changes that may actually be a massive downgrade in terms of chipset.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 to reportedly get chipset downgrade

Our folk over at South Korea’s publication have recently informed citing an industry source that the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip series phone will come with the Exynos 2500 chipset. Samsung’s foldable smartphones have always come with a Snapdragon processor and launch between May and July every year.

According to the information, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Flip FE will feature the Exynos 2500 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The Exynos 2500 chipset was initially developed for the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus. Due to the Samsung Foundry’s 3nm yields reportedly being so low, the company decided to shift to the Snapdragin 8 Elite for the Galaxy S25 series.

Now, a recent report claims that Exynos 2500’s yield has been improved, and with the process now stable, it can be mass-produced. Industry sources cited in the report claim that the Exynos 2500 chipset is not available in sufficient quantities for the Galaxy S25 series arriving next month.

Based on this fact, this report claims that this processor will be possible to use for Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Simultaneously, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to be unveiled between May and July 2025 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

Earlier reports claim that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 may get an upgraded cover and inner display to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. It has a main display of 6.85 inches, while the cover panel could have 4 inches. The cover display will go longer, which will offer even more space to use without unfolding.
