Apple iPhone Fold rumored to ditch the display crease, can it challenge Samsung Galaxy Z Fold’s dominance?

Samsung has always been a strong player in the world of smartphone displays, getting better with every new version. Meanwhile, a new report suggests that Apple’s upcoming iPhone Fold may not have a display crease. But with Samsung’s impressive Galaxy Z Fold series, the big question is: can it really challenge the dominance of Samsung’s best?
According to the latest leak, Apple’s upcoming book-style iPhone Fold will feature an inward-folding design as expected and the new foldable may not have a display crease. In Android terms, this would be a huge improvement over existing foldable phones like the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which still has the crease.
It is worth noting that a major challenge in foldable technology, the display crease, has reportedly been significantly improved.
However, thanks to this unique material, the Samsung foldable screen has improved flatness, giving you an incredibly smooth viewing experience when unfolded. Plus, Samsung claims that it is made of multiple layers of thin film, which reduces the thickness of the screen, so it maintains durability and strength even after being folded hundreds of thousands of times.
The report also states that Apple plans to make a final decision on the foldable’s suppliers and parts by April, based on the results of its collaboration with various partners.. As usual, the company chooses suppliers and parts for its device a year before the product is released. Therefore, the platform suggests that the iPhone Fold could arrive in the second half of 2026.
However, the South Korean tech giant didn’t face an imminent threat from it as the phone could arrive in the second half of 2026. Yes, very few people will do this but it will create a lot of buzz about the device. It will also open the way for people to directly compare it to the Galaxy Z Fold and ask Samsung to step up its game.
