The January 2025 update for Galaxy A55 is tagged with the One UI version A556EXXS6AYA5 in some Countries in Asia including the Philippines and Vietnam. It further carries a small software package of 278.46 Megabytes. Although users are expecting some big surprises and looking for a major upgrade for the mid-range model.

According to the changelog, the latest version only installs the security patch released in January 2025. Apart from this, there is nothing to explore in the update. However, you may find some mysterious improvements after installation it.

Notably, the Galaxy A55 is the first Samsung phone to have a seamless update feature. It allows you to install updates on partition B while using your phone on partition A and restart it when the installation is complete.

Now, this feature has finally come to the S25 line. What “seamless updates” means is that your device will be unavailable for use for a short period of time while the update is taking place.

As mentioned, the new update is tagged in a staged rollout. Nevertheless, you can go to System Settings and then tap on Software Update, followed by Download and Install to perform a manual installation.
