Galaxy S25 gets two new features via One UI 7 Camera Assistant

Last month, Samsung officially confirmed that the One UI 7 Camera Assistant will let you save videos directly to external storage and HDR10+ support. As promised, Samsung introduced these two new video features via Camera Assistant for Galaxy S25 devices running One UI 7.
On the other hand, this year’s Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has the best camera specs among all the S series models, with a 50MP ultra-wide lens, up from the 12MP of the previous Ultra. In addition, the Galaxy S25 Ultra supports 1x, 2x, or 3x to switch between different zoom options in portrait mode.
Galaxy S25 gets HDR10+ and Save videos to external storage features via One UI 7 Camera Assistant
Samsung is introducing a new Camera Assistant feature called HDR10+ Toggle. It can allow you to enable or disable HDR10+ video recording through the Camera Assistant app. It on your Galaxy phone is a step up and helps increase color range and dynamic brightness and gives a wider range of colors and depth, making videos more vivid and lifelike.
In short, HDR10+ optimizes the color and contrast of videos recorded in Video and Pro Video modes.
- To turn on HDR10+, go to Camera Settings > Advanced Video Options.
Save videos to external storage is another Camera Assistant feature that is debuting with One UI 7 and Galaxy S25. This feature Automatically saves videos to an external storage device connected to the USB-C port on your phone.

Several Samsung Galaxy devices are already compatible with the One UI 7 Home Up support, while Galaxy Fold and Tablet devices are still undergoing testing for full support. Samsung has recently rolled out a new update for its Home Up Good Lock module with version 16.0.00.82 on One UI 7 devices.
This Samsung’s new One UI 7 Home Up update includes a significant improvement, including Fold and Tablet support in addition to new DIY home features.
According to the changelog, the new update expands One UI 7 Home Up support to Galaxy Fold and tablet devices, which were previously not fully compatible with this Good Lock app. Apart from support, the update includes general bug fixes to improve the stability and performance of the app.
Home Up is a Samsung Good Lock module for home screen customization. It helps users manage their home screen more effectively. Also, you can customize your Galaxy phone’s home screen without even opening the Home Up app, as some of its settings will be available in the One UI Home app launcher.
Now, the new update makes the app more useful and stable on your Fold and Tab devices. You can easily update the app, just open the Galaxy Store, tap on the menu button, and go to the Updates section to find Home Up. You can also open the Good Lock app and update it from there.

Samsung Phone App with One UI 8 gets Widget support

Samsung One UI 8 is set to come to Galaxy devices with a new design and animations. Meanwhile, a report says that One UI 8 is set to bring widget support to the Samsung Phone app for personalization.
On online forums, some rumors claim that Samsung is set to launch Android 7-based One UI 7 along with the next-generation foldable phones, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 16, in July. The Korean tech giant is expected to release the One UI 7 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series and some more eligible flagships soon. Samsung is also planning to launch the Galaxy S26 series with One UI 8.5.
The latest update includes a widget for Samsung phones, as spotted by a reliable tipster. The widget has been modified to make it more functional and user-friendly to make it easier to search and find what you need.

The One UI 8 Samsung Phone app widget adjusts to your preferred light or dark display settings. The header mentioned “Recents” and the subsequent section shows the three most recent calls, that too with the respective types like outgoing, incoming, and missed through icons.
Also, the Recent Calls widget default layout includes two options within the widgets section, including 2×2 and 4×2. As per the report, you can stack the widgets, but there is no customisation section right now.
