Galaxy S25 on-device AI features

On-device Galaxy AI takes center stage with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, turning smartphones into intelligent companions that give you power like never before. Now, Samsung is preparing to introduce more on-device Galaxy AI features for the Galaxy S25 series to reducing reliance on cloud.

Galaxy S25 line will come with more on-device AI features, reducing reliance on the cloud

As spotted by the industrious digital detective AssembleDebug on x/Twitter, AssembleDebug (via Android Police ), the upcoming Galaxy S25 line will have more on-device AI features. The upcoming Galaxy AI features on the Galaxy S25 series will start changing that by processing generative AI photo editing locally on your device.

Notable, the Galaxy S25 series gets upgraded on-device AI tools thanks to powerful chipsets such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite. With this AI feature, the Galaxy S25 series will boost your creativity, increase your productivity, and open up a world of new opportunities.

The Galaxy S25 Series with code mentions the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and references several intriguing tools that will bring a new level of intelligence with its advanced Galaxy AI:

  • FEATURE_WALLPAPER
  • FEATURE_INOUT_PAINTING
  • FEATURE_GEN_EDIT_ON_DEVICE

Galaxy AI’s Note Assist and Generative Edit features rely on cloud processing. As a result, the lack of on-device AI support results in slow processing and lag, which you may face even if you have a stable internet connection.

Now, the code suggests that this refers to inserting edits to an image and expanding an image beyond its original boundaries, respectively.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series is expected to come equipped with a satellite connectivity feature. The Korean tech giant may officially reveal the Galaxy S25 series on January 22, in the US. These flagship devices come with enhanced AI features, design tweaks, and upgraded specs.

The Galaxy S25 series phones will run Android 15 and One UI 7 pre-installed and eligible for seven years of Android OS upgrades and security patches.
