Samsung Galaxy S25 waterproof

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is undoubtedly one of the most interesting and attractive S-series from Samsung, bringing significant improvements and some surprising changes over last year’s Galaxy S series. It comes as no surprise that the Galaxy S25 series devices have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and its Armor Aluminum frame makes it more resilient even when dropped, but now the question here is, is the Samsung Galaxy S25 series waterproof?

Is the Samsung Galaxy S25 waterproof?

Like other Galaxy S series smartphones, the latest edition of the flagship series, the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra is rated IP68 using the ingress protection rating system.  While no phone is truly “waterproof,” the IP68 dust and water-resistance ingress protection rating means your gadget is completely protected from dust, and it’s water-resistant in up to 5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.

For everyday use, the Galaxy S25 has an IP68 rating, which means the flagship phone can handle minor water incidents such as accidental splashes, light rain, or a quick drop in shallow water without any issues. Still, the smartphone is not designed for prolonged use underwater, so it’s best not to push its limits.

IP rating, the last two digits of which indicate the level of dust and water resistance of the device. In this scenario, the first digit of IP68, “6”, means that the Galaxy S25 phones are completely dust-proof. The second digit indicates the level of water resistance, and “8” means that the flagship phone can be submersion in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.

Now, we can say that the Samsung Galaxy S25 series is water-resistant and not waterproof, just like any other smartphone on the market.

The Galaxy S25 series is Samsung’s latest edition based on its Galaxy S flagship lineup. The Galaxy S25 series is an excellent phone for folks of all ages, and it offers a lot of the same awesome features as the beautiful AMOLED display, stereo speakers, excellent performance, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip versatile camera setup, or all-day battery life, and more.

Samsung has another flagship phone that comes with a slim form factor. At the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, the company teased the Galaxy S25 Edge. The flagship phone also grabbed attention at the Mobile World Congress in March due to its ultra-thin design. New information suggests that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25 Edge in the US on May 30. This will follow the initial reveal in South Korea, which is scheduled for May 13.

Galaxy S25 Edge US launch

According to FNNews, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will launch in the US via an online event on May 13, 2025, instead of the big Unpacked show in January. The Galaxy S25 Edge could be priced between $1,099-1,199 in the US or KRW 1.5-1.63 million in South Korea.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is arriving before the iPhone 17 Air. Apple’s slim iPhone is said to be thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge, but the flagship will have some meaningful upgrades like a 200-megapixel primary and ultrawide camera.

According to rumors, the S25 Edge will have a slim design and measure 158.2 x 75.5 x 5.84mm, making it just 5.84mm thick. It may feature a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone’s screen is said to be covered by Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 with 1.32mm bezels.

Talking about optics, it is likely to have a 200-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, as well as a 12-megapixel selfie camera.

The phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip paired with 12GB of RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Plus, the device could have a 3,900mAh battery with 25W charging.

One UI 8 Samsung Phone widget

Samsung One UI 8 is set to come to Galaxy devices with a new design and animations. Meanwhile, a report says that One UI 8 is set to bring widget support to the Samsung Phone app for personalization.

On online forums, some rumors claim that Samsung is set to launch Android 7-based One UI 7 along with the next-generation foldable phones, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 16, in July. The Korean tech giant is expected to release the One UI 7 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series and some more eligible flagships soon. Samsung is also planning to launch the Galaxy S26 series with One UI 8.5.

The latest update includes a widget for Samsung phones, as spotted by a reliable tipster. The widget has been modified to make it more functional and user-friendly to make it easier to search and find what you need.

The One UI 8 Samsung Phone app widget adjusts to your preferred light or dark display settings. The header mentioned “Recents” and the subsequent section shows the three most recent calls, that too with the respective types like outgoing, incoming, and missed through icons.

Also, the Recent Calls widget default layout includes two options within the widgets section, including 2×2 and 4×2. As per the report, you can stack the widgets, but there is no customisation section right now.
