One UI 7.1 could soon bring a call summary feature to Samsung devices
After an endless delay, the third One UI 7 beta is set to arrive this week. Meanwhile, Samsung is reported to working on the ability to get a call summary feature, which may come with the One UI 7.1 update.
With the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung introduced lots of Galaxy AI including the Transcribe Assist feature is available through the Voice Recorder app. This feature feature on Galaxy devices enables users to record speech and create a transcript and summary of what was said.
It is worth mentioning that the summary tool is a bit limited, it can only be used for voice recordings, not calls. Now the new report claims that Galaxy users may soon be able to get a call summary feature.
With One UI 7 Beta, Samsung has provided a new Galaxy AI feature called “Transcribe recorded calls” features. This feature only transcribes recorded calls and supports 20 languages. However, this capability was not yet extended to the Summary feature. Now, this might change soon as the feature is expected to expand with a call summary in the One UI 7.1 update.
Android Authority has spotted the Call Summary feature in an APK teardown of the Samsung Voice Recorder app with version 21.5.70.78. Below you can see what this feature can do and how it works.
<code class="c-mrkdwn__code c-mrkdwn__code--no_right_cap" data-stringify-type="code"><string name="app_name_assist_summary_with_call_recording">Transcribe voice and call recordings into text, then summarize them for easy review.</string> <code class="c-mrkdwn__code c-mrkdwn__code--no_left_cap c-mrkdwn__code--no_right_cap" data-stringify-type="code"><string name="summary_setting_description_1_call_recording_setting_common">Use AI to automatically create summaries of voice and call recordings.</string> </code><code class="c-mrkdwn__code c-mrkdwn__code--no_left_cap c-mrkdwn__code--no_right_cap" data-stringify-type="code"><string name="settings_recorder_assist_notice_2_for_call_recording_setting_global">Call and voice recordings need to be transcribed before they can be summarized. When you summarize recordings, their transcripts will be processed online unless Process data only on device is turned on. Samsung won't store this data after processing.</string> </code><code class="c-mrkdwn__code c-mrkdwn__code--no_left_cap" data-stringify-type="code"><string name="summary_setting_description_2_call_recording_setting_global">When you summarize calls and voice recordings, their transcripts, including any sensitive data in them, will be processed but not stored by Samsung.</string> </code><code class="c-mrkdwn__code" data-stringify-type="code"><string name="transcription_assist_description_call_recording_transcript_setting_support">Use AI to transcribe, summarize, and translate voice and call recordings.</string></code></code>
These codes found in the app show that Samsung is working on adding this call summary tool with the One UI 7.1 update to its Galaxy phones.
According to the information, the call summary feature will reportedly work by first transcribing the phone call. After the call is over, the conversation will be transcribed into text, and then using AI, Samsung will create a summary of the important points of the call.
Last week, Samsung started testing Android 15-based One UI 7.1 firmware on the Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone ahead of its tentative launch.

Alleged Galaxy S26 Ultra and Plus renders show stunning black variants
Samsung is gearing up to launch its next flagship S series smartphones, the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, and now we have the latest “possible” look via unofficial leaked renders, showing the phones in black from different angles.
Certain tipsters have suggested the design of the new Galaxy S26 series way before its launch. Some said that it could bring a vertical pill shape bump in the base layer, encompassing three rings on the back, just like its predecessor, while others are now hinting at a box-like imaging system.
Amid this confusion, alleged renders of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra are emerging from YTECHB, showing what the devices could actually look like. It may adopt stunning dynamic shades this time: Black, showing the device from all angles.

Looking at the renders in detail, the biggest design change is the rear camera on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Instead of the old separate rings, it now features a single camera island inspired by the Galaxy Z Fold 7, giving the back a clean, modern look.
With the launch approaching on February 25th, official renders of the Galaxy S26 series have leaked, and we expect more interesting leaks to emerge soon. Samsung has also started taking pre-reservations for it in many countries, including the US and India.

Here’s how it looks.
