One UI 7 WhatsApp call audio issues

Some Galaxy S24 series users running One UI 7 beta have reported issues with WhatsApp call audio when switching to another screen or app during the call, the other person can no longer hear them.

If you are also facing WhatsApp call audio issues when switching to another screen or app during a call on your Galaxy S24 running on the One UI 7 Beta, then no need to worry. The One UI Beta team has shared some temporary solutions with the community to help you solve this issue.

USBetaModerator3 claims that the issue seems like a software or app-related problem that affects the microphone when you move away from the call screen. At the same time, a community moderator has proposed a solution to temporarily resolve this issue. To resolve this issue, here are some additional steps you can try:

1. Check App Permissions

Head back into Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Permissions, and make sure the app has the necessary permissions, including microphone access.

2. Clear Cache and Data for WhatsApp

Navigate to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Storage and tap Clear cache. Later, try calling again. (Note: Clearing data will log you out of the app, so be suggested to backup your important messages.)

3. Try in Safe Mode

Try restarting your device in safe mode. To do this press and hold the Power button, then long press “Power Off” and select Safe Mode. It will disable third-party apps and can help determine if another app is interfering with WhatsApp.

4. Check for System Updates

  • Go to Settings > Software update.
  • Tap on Download and install.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

There may be bug fixes or improvements that resolve the issue.

5. Reinstall WhatsApp

Uninstall WhatsApp and then reinstall it from the Google Play Store and Galaxy Store. This can help resolve any app-specific bugs or issues.

If the issue persists, the moderator urged affected users to submit an error report via the Samsung Members app. User feedback is essential during the Beta testing of the upcoming firmware, here’s how to submit an error report:

  • Launch Samsung Members.
  • Go to One UI Beta Program > Beta Feedback.
  • Attach any relevant screenshots (if possible).
  • Ensure “Send system log data” is checked, then submit the report.
