One UI 7 Now Bar could integrate Google’s next-gen Gemini Live interface.
Earlier this month, Samsung started the Android 15-based One UI 7 beta program for the Galaxy S24 series smartphones. With the new UI design that makes the already great-looking Android skin even better, now, a report suggests that Samsung’s Now Bar in One UI 7 could adopt Google’s next-gen Gemini Live interface.
One UI 7 Now Bar could integrate Gemini Live
Samsung One UI 7 introduces the Now Bar, a system of lock screen widgets that supports a number of apps and services, including not only Samsung’s own, such as Health, but also things from Google, such as Maps. Now, It has been revealed that Samsung’s efforts progress may bring the new Gemini Live controls to the Now Bar of Samsung’s One UI 7 software system.
The information allegedly comes through the latest version 15.52.37.sa.arm64 of the Google app that Android Authority was able to go through. Currently, the Now Bar and Gemini Live integration is under development and is currently only seen on Google App codes and strings.
As far as Gemini is concerned, Samsung and Google already have a pretty good relationship, and it looks like they’re getting even stronger year after year. Recently, a report also claimed that the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra could bring free access to Google’s Gemini Advanced AI assistant.
With these Google app codes and strings, it’s very likely that by the time Samsung’s One UI 7 is ready to be stable and rolled out to more of the existing Galaxy lineup, we’ll see this interaction ready.
Now Bar is the one of the most impressive features in the One UI 7. It’s similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island element that displays ongoing activities on the phone and appears on the lock screen. Now Bar is compatible with the following apps and activities:
- Bixby
- Clock (stopwatch and timer)
- Emergency Sharing
- Interpreter
- Google Maps
- Samsung Health
- Modes and Routine
- Music
- Samsung Notes
- Voice Recorder

Android 17 (One UI 9) may add a ‘Universal Clipboard’ for Galaxy devices
Google and Samsung are yet to release Android 17 and One UI 9 Beta for Pixel and Galaxy devices. Meanwhile, Google is working on a Universal Clipboard for Android phones and PCs, with Android 17. This means Samsung’s One UI 9 could bring universal clipboard to Galaxy devices.
According to Android Authority, Android 17 includes a feature called UniversalClipboardManager. This tool appears inside Google’s continuity framework, which transfers copied content between Android devices without a third-party tool
Samsung’s current cross-device features, like Quick Share, Samsung Flow, and Phone Link, do not offer built-in clipboard syncing. Fortunately, that could change in next year’s One UI 9 update, as Google is working on a Universal Clipboard for Android phones and PCs.
If Samsung follows the One UI 8 schedule, One UI 9 is expected to arrive alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 in mid-2026. If Google implements Universal Clipboard in Android 17, Samsung will likely add it in One UI 9.
