Samsung is preparing to add YouTube Music support to Clock app

Samsung Clock app YouTube Music

The Samsung Clock app offers several features like Alarm, World Clock, Stopwatch, and Timer. Now a new input suggests that Samsung appears to be preparing to add YouTube Music support to its clock app.

Currently, with the Samsung Clock app, you can choose music from Spotify as your alarm tune instead of one of the default ringtones. If you’re not a Spotify lover, you may soon have another option to choose from this app.

In the latest test version (8.06.51) of the YouTube Music update, AssembleDebug (via Android Authority) has spotted that the Clock app on Samsung phones may soon wake you up with your favorite YouTube Music songs as the alarm sound.

If this happens, Galaxy users will be able to choose YouTube Music songs as their alarms in addition to Spotify and the default tone. However, to take advantage of this feature, you must have the app installed and a YouTube Music Premium subscription.

Currently, Google Clock already supports both services, Spotify and YouTube Music, and it appears that Samsung Clock may get both services as well.

The feature is not available to everyone right now as Google and Samsung have yet to officially announce it. However, if the company releases it, it could give the option to choose either Spotify or YouTube Music for your alarm, which would be a welcome addition to the app.

On the other hand, Samsung released a new update for the Clock app last month,  which is compatible with Galaxy devices running One UI 7 Beta 3. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 series is expected to receive the fourth One UI 7 beta next week. This shows that the stable version of One UI 7 is not ready yet.

However, Samsung has not yet outlined the rollout schedule and eligible devices. At the moment, only owners of the recently launched Galaxy S25 are enjoying One UI 7. Stay turned.
