Bad news for those hoping for the Galaxy S25 Slim to launch alongside other Galaxy S25 models
The Galaxy S25 series is expected to be launched at the Galaxy Unpacked event, which is rumored to take place on January 22, 2025. If you’re still holding out hope that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25 Slim alongside the rest of the S25 lineup, you’re going to be disappointed. A new leak suggests that Samsung might not launch the Galaxy S25 Slim alongside other Galaxy S25 models on January 22.
Samsung might not launch Galaxy S25 Slim with the rest of the S25 lineup.
The upcoming Galaxy S series has been spotted in the GSMA IMEI database, with model numbers SM-S931, SM-S936, and SM-S938 for the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. Later, the S25 slim model, SM-S937 was spotted, which falls between the S25 Plus and Ultra.
The model numbers of the upcoming Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra devices have been spotted by Assemble Debug (via Android Authority). The model numbers leaked in the One UI 7 beta in the US are SM-S931, SM-S936, and SM-S938, which are expected to be the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. Interestingly, the list does not have SM-S937, indicating that the launch of the Galaxy S25 Slim is not on the cards alongside the other S25 variants in the next month.
This evidence suggests that the Galaxy S25 Slim won’t go on sale alongside the rest of the S25 series models until early 2025. This doesn’t mean Samsung won’t launch the Galaxy S25 Slim at all. Instead, other reports point to a Q2 2025 launch timeline for the Galaxy S25 Slim, which seems more reasonable.
Galaxy S25 Slim specifications Rumored
Previous leaks suggest that the device may come with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz variable refresh rate.
For the rear camera, the device may use a 200MP primary rear camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. There could be a 12MP front-facing selfie cam for impressive portraits. It may also feature an ALoP telephoto camera to help reduce the thickness of the camera bump, addressing the issue of protruding.
The device may also use a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip paired with 12GB RAM. It could bring two storage variants: 256GB and 512 GB. Regarding battery, the phone will likely use a 4,700mAh cell and a 45W fast charger. The phone is said to be between 6mm to 7mm thin.

Samsung is reportedly working on a camera button for the Galaxy S26 series
The Samsung Galaxy S26 series has started emerging in the leaks, and the latest one has shed light on the camera button of the upcoming 2026 flagship.
As mentioned by Android Authority, a former employee at a Samsung supplier revealed on LinkedIn that they contributed to an initiative developing a new camera button with swipe gesture functionality for the Samsung Galaxy S26.
This report states that Samsung is working on an Apple-style Camera Control button for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. An Apple-style Camera Control button on iPhone models lets you quickly open your iPhone camera and access common camera settings.
We can now say that the Galaxy S26 series will be the first Samsung phones in years to feature a dedicated camera button.
For your information, the last Samsung phone with a dedicated camera button was probably the Galaxy K Zoom from 2014, which was essentially an Android-powered digital camera that could also make calls.
On the other hand, Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the Galaxy S26 lineup. However, according to reports, the company may unveil the Galaxy S26 series at a Samsung Unpacked event in February 2026. This upcoming series could be available in early March. Stay tuned for more information.
