Samsung One UI 7 will launch Good Lock in the Google Play Store and all countries

Since the start beta program, Samsung has been working hard to make Good Lock fully functional in One UI 7 by January 2025. The company has recently issued a notice within the Good Lock app, suggesting Good Lock is coming to the Google Play Store and all countries with the One UI 7 update.
Samsung’s Good Lock lets you make deep customizations in One UI without the need for root or any other complex mods. Still, this app is limited to certain regions and is only accessible through the Galaxy Store. Now the company official has confirmed that Good Lock will come to Google Play Store and all countries as Samsung is expanding this feature with One UI 7.
According to the Functional person Moderator, only 15 Good Lock apps are fully functional on the Samsung One UI 7 beta software, and 7 apps like LockStar, Home Up, NavStar, NotiStar, QuickStar, MultiStar, and Clockface that are closely tied to the system and are always being carefully updated will begin to open from the end of December, starting with MultiStar.
On the other hand, we will have to wait especially for Home Up and Lockstar, which brings many new features and major structural changes, which may be slightly delayed as they are undergoing intensive internal testing.
One UI 7 brings major changes from the UI enhancements to new customization tools in the Good Lock app which are given below:

Now talking about the Home Up module, Samsung planning to bring a lot of new and diverse custom features. These new features include Enhanced Home Up accessibility, Free Home Item Placement, new Home screen stickers, Hide Favorites, Edge panel customization, gesture animation tuning, and multi-finger gestures.

What’s new in the other One UI 7 Good Lock modules and apps:
- Game Booster Plus: Add three key settings to be included in One UI 7 namely Gamepad Key Remapping, GPU Detailed Settings, and Game Category Changes.
- LockStar: Deliver a consistent lock screen editing experience
- Wonderland: One UI 7 allows users to Separate applications to lock screen/home screen and improves text color visibility.
- MultiStar allows Galaxy users to launch the Cover Launcher function from the ‘Labs’ menu on their Flip device, allowing them to utilize the cover screen more effectively.
- Theme Park: It brings folder icon support and custom app icon sizes, as well as expanded sticker/wallpaper picker content.
- QuickStar allows users to Hide a multi-user icon that is visible to multi-phone users on the lock screen.
- With One UI 7, Camera Assistant automatically saves videos to external storage connected to your device’s USB-C port.

One UI 7 Home Up update support Fold and Tablet devices

Several Samsung Galaxy devices are already compatible with the One UI 7 Home Up support, while Galaxy Fold and Tablet devices are still undergoing testing for full support. Samsung has recently rolled out a new update for its Home Up Good Lock module with version 16.0.00.82 on One UI 7 devices.
This Samsung’s new One UI 7 Home Up update includes a significant improvement, including Fold and Tablet support in addition to new DIY home features.
According to the changelog, the new update expands One UI 7 Home Up support to Galaxy Fold and tablet devices, which were previously not fully compatible with this Good Lock app. Apart from support, the update includes general bug fixes to improve the stability and performance of the app.
Home Up is a Samsung Good Lock module for home screen customization. It helps users manage their home screen more effectively. Also, you can customize your Galaxy phone’s home screen without even opening the Home Up app, as some of its settings will be available in the One UI Home app launcher.

Samsung Phone App with One UI 8 gets Widget support

Samsung One UI 8 is set to come to Galaxy devices with a new design and animations. Meanwhile, a report says that One UI 8 is set to bring widget support to the Samsung Phone app for personalization.
On online forums, some rumors claim that Samsung is set to launch Android 7-based One UI 7 along with the next-generation foldable phones, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 16, in July. The Korean tech giant is expected to release the One UI 7 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series and some more eligible flagships soon. Samsung is also planning to launch the Galaxy S26 series with One UI 8.5.
The latest update includes a widget for Samsung phones, as spotted by a reliable tipster. The widget has been modified to make it more functional and user-friendly to make it easier to search and find what you need.

The One UI 8 Samsung Phone app widget adjusts to your preferred light or dark display settings. The header mentioned “Recents” and the subsequent section shows the three most recent calls, that too with the respective types like outgoing, incoming, and missed through icons.
Also, the Recent Calls widget default layout includes two options within the widgets section, including 2×2 and 4×2. As per the report, you can stack the widgets, but there is no customisation section right now.

Good Lock’s Keys Cafe is now compatible with One UI 7

Samsung is rolling out an update to the Keys Cafe app, a module for the brand’s Good Lock app. The Keys Cafe app update changes the app’s version to 1.7.0.11 and makes it compatible with the company’s Android 15-based One UI 7, allowing you to use it on Galaxy phones and tablets running Android 15 and One UI 7.
