The Galaxy S24 Ultra was the only flagship to be the most-selling Android phone in 2024
According to the latest report by market research firm Canalys, the global smartphone market grew by 7% in 2024, reaching 1.22 billion units, a rebound after two consecutive years of decline. But, Samsung made history with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the only flagship Android phone to be most-selling the most in 2024.
The report says that the Galaxy S24 Ultra became the highest-selling flagship Android phone in 2024, ranking 9th and Galaxy A15 has 4th ranking after Apple’s iPhone 15, this year’s iPhone 16 Pro Max, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
In addition to this, Galaxy A15 5G is also in the top 10 ranked with eight. Speaking about particular companies, Samsung ranks second with 222.9 million units, accounting for 18% of the market. While Apple retained its lead, shipping 225.9 million units with an 18% share.
Overall, for the full year 2024, iPhone shipments declined 1% to 225.9 million units. The Korean tech giant remained in second place due to its continued profitability focus, as its shipments also declined 1% to 222.9 million units.
No flagship Android phone was in the top 10 best-selling smartphone charts in 2023. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 Ultra was the only best-selling Android flagship in the year 2024.
Notably, Samsung delivered its strongest S-series volumes since 2019, tilting more towards the Ultra than ever before. However, no Galaxy Ultra phone was in the top 10 best-selling smartphone charts.
But the Galaxy S24 Ultra has changed that, and it intends to continue the S-series growth with the Galaxy S25, driven by a continued focus on AI-driven experiences, including the complementary Gemini Advanced subscription.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is already making headlines, and the biggest talking point is its massive camera upgrade. Recent information revealed that the ISP of the Exynos 2600, suggesting that it may enable improved camera capabilities on the Galaxy S26 series.
Furthermore, according to several leaks and rumours, Samsung is going to present the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ with the Exynos 2600 chipset instead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in most regions around the world.

According to well-known tipster @SPYGO19726, the Exynos 2600 on the Galaxy S26 series has an image signal processor (ISP) that can handle a single 320MP camera or three 108MP cameras simultaneously.
Moreover, in burst mode under the Galaxy S26, it can take 30 108MP RAW pictures per second, and for HDR pictures, it can combine five frames.

On the other hand, Chosun says that the Korean tech giant is preparing to launch the Galaxy S26 series by the end of January 2026.
As per the well-known tipster, @PhoneArt, Samsung has increased the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s front camera’s field of view (FOV) to 85 degrees. As per another report, Samsung could only include the Exynos 2600 in the base and Plus models, and will equip the Ultra model with Qualcomm’s mobile Application Processor.
