Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could use next-gen Gorilla Glass Armor

Gorilla Glass has been a favorite for most device makers – for a good reason. But, Corning Gorilla Armor, available exclusively for the Galaxy S24 Ultra last year, is a revolutionary cover material with unparalleled durability and visual clarity. Corning’s latest release – Corning Gorilla Glass Armor 2 – is set to be used on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, giving the device significant added protection.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra will be the first device to use Corning Gorilla Glass Armor 2
Recently, a new rumor from Ice Universe over on X claims the Galaxy S25 Ultra will exclusively use the more powerful second-generation Corning Gorilla Glass Armor to protect the screen. They have also claimed that it will reportedly have anti-reflective properties, but will be more durable than the Gorilla Glass Armor panel seen on its predecessor.
While the leaker hasn’t said so, we guess that we can expect better anti-reflective properties, as well as improved durability in the form of break resistance, scratch resistance, or both.
The Gorilla Glass Armor lineup is known for the more protection it adds to the phone screen compared to typical glass surfaces. Corning’s Gorilla Glass Armor is highly shatter-resistant provides enhanced display readability and minimizes screen reflections in almost any environment.
The upcoming Galaxy S25 range, which is expected to arrive at Unpacked 2025 on January 22, is expected to come with a 6.9-inch screen, which is slightly bigger than the 6.8-inch screen on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The display to feature a Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen with QHD+ resolution, a 1Hz-120Hz variable refresh rate, and HDR10+. Earlier, a report claimed that the company would use a panel made of the old M13 OLED material instead of the new M14 material used in the screen of the iPhone 16 Pro.
Samsung and Corning have worked together for over 50 years. The upcoming new materials can deliver unprecedented durability and visual experience on Samsung’s S25 Ultra – including the strongest, most scratch-resistant, and most optically advanced Gorilla Glass ever.
