Verizon Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4, S22, S21, and three A series devices get December 2024 security update in the US

Along with One UI 7 beta preparation for the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has already started rolling out the December 2024 security update to eligible Galaxy phones and tablets. In this series, the tech giant is releasing the December 2024 security patch update to Verizon-specific models of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, and three Galaxy A series devices including Galaxy A54, Galaxy A23 5G, and Galaxy A15 5G in the US.

Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy A54 smartphone users already received this update in Europe and the US, respectively. The company will soon make it available in other carriers and countries. These 11 Samsung Galaxy phones on Verizon identify the December 2024 security update via the firmware versions given below:

These Samsung Galaxy phones should automatically notify users about the latest software update, but if you haven’t received one, you can check the update manually. To do that, open the Samsung phone’s Settings, select Software Update, and then Download and install. If an update is available, following the on-screen instructions will ensure that your Galaxy phone is up-to-date with the latest security protection.

Moreover, this update also applies the latest security patches from Google and Samsung to offr a more secure, stable, smooth, and optimized software experience to the Galaxy users.

It fixes over 40 security issues, with 6 of these considered critical and 28 high-level b Google. There’s also one problem that doesn’t affect Galaxy phones and one solved with the previous version. Moreover, Samsung has worked on 8 additional fixes, mostly around features like Theme Center, Galaxy Watch Bluetooth, SmartSwitch, Dex Mode, and more.
