Galaxy A16, A15, A14 are the latest to get January 2025 security update in the US
Samsung has started the January 2025 security update rollout for the entry-level Galaxy A16, Galaxy A15, and Galaxy A14 5G models. The firmware is being released in batches and will be available to device owners soon, providing a stable and bug-free experience.
The January 2025 update is already out for Galaxy A54 users. Now the company is bringing this software treatment to more Galaxy devices.
The latest January 2025 update is rolling out for Galaxy A16, Galaxy A15, and Galaxy A14 5G tagged with the One UI A166USQS1AYA2, A156USQS5BYA3, and A146USQSADXL1 version and a software package of around 400MB. Although the size may vary depending on the device and region.
This update is currently available on Verizon network carrier in the US. The company will make this update available in other countries in the coming days or weeks.
With the latest version, the Korean tech giant is upgrading the security level of its entry-level model. The most up-to-date security patch aims to address all unknown vulnerabilities in the device’s system and make it more responsive for users to operate.
The changelog only shows the presence of the most up-to-date Android security patch on your device. But it is an important add-on as it protects your device from around 29 CVEs and 20 SVEs library issues. It also protects your Galaxy device from sudden crashes and data loss. On the other hand, Boost Mobile, the fourth-largest network carrier in the US, announced last week that it is adding two new Galaxy phones to its portfolio, the Galaxy A15 5G and the Galaxy A16 5G.
If you are a new customer or already on the Boost Mobile network, you will be able to buy the Galaxy A15 5G for $169.99 and the Galaxy A16 5G for $199.99.

Galaxy S24 models receiving November 2025 update in more countries
Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones have already received the November 2025 security update in Korea. Now, the company is expanding the latest Android security patch to more countries, including Europe and the US.
As always, the latest update fixes several issues and improves system security and stability for a better Galaxy experience. It also improves device performance by enhancing certain functions.
As spotted by Tarun Vats, the November patch can be identified via PDA build version ending with CYK2.
While it doesn’t include any new features or changes, it does install the latest Android security patch to make your device more secure. It’s worth noting that the November 2025 security patch fixes several issues, including 45 improvements from Google, Samsung, and Samsung Semiconductor in Europe, while for carrier-locked versions in the US, it package has just 34 specific fixes.
Samsung will soon roll out this update to additional countries. Users are advised to install the update immediately to take advantage of the improved security measures. Those who haven’t received the update notification can check and install it manually.
To install the update, unlock your smartphone’s Settings, select ‘Software Update,’ and then select ‘Download and Install.’ Following these steps will ensure your Galaxy smartphone is up-to-date with the latest security protections.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series gets more secure with November 2025 update
Samsung recently released the latest security patch for the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy S25 series. Now, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series is receiving the November 2025 security update. This update enhances the security and stability of these Galaxy devices.
The latest update addresses several issues to enhance system security and stability. It main package includes 45 improvements for Galaxy devices. Meanwhile, your Galaxy phone is eligible for 34 patches; 11 Exynos patches are excluded.
