Samsung has released an update to the Galaxy A53 5G, bringing the January 2025 security patch to the smartphone. This fresh update fixes over 50 security vulnerabilities, improving the security of the device.

Galaxy A53 5G gets January 2025 security update in Europe

The company is rolling out the new Galaxy A53 5G update for Europe, which has model number SM-A536B and the company will make it available in more countries soon. January 2025 security update for Samsung Galaxy A53 smartphone arrives with One UI build version A536BXXSDEXLC. The installation package size of this firmware is around 300MB.

As usual, your Galaxy A53 5G should automatically inform you about the update. However, if it hasn’t, you can check for it manually by going to Settings >> Software update >> Download and install. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions.

January 2025 security update

Samsung has fixed over 50 vulnerabilities with the latest January 2025 security patch details. These are mainly related to the internal device systems. Google has addressed 5 critical and 24 high-level CVEs, while 1 CVE was already covered in a previous update and 2 CVEs do not apply to Samsung devices. 

On the other hand, the company added its fixes in the update, including 22 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items. These mainly address issues related to Samsung’s Sound Picker, Samsung Messages, Notification Manager, and Bootloader.

One UI 7

Samsung will soon start rolling out the One UI 7 update for Galaxy devices. Last month, the Galaxy A53 was spotted on a Geekbench listing, confirming that Samsung’s 2022 smartphones will soon get the One UI 7 update with new features and improvements.

Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25  Plus, and Galaxy S25  Ultra users are currently testing the new One UI 8.5 features through the Beta Program, ahead of the official release. Now, new reports suggest that Samsung may soon roll out the One UI 8.5 Beta 4 update for the Galaxy S25 series.

A reliable tipster has discovered a new One UI 8.5 beta build, along with a corresponding changelog, for the Galaxy S25 series. The build number is ending ZZAB, which means Samsung is currently testing it internally. This indicates that the Korean tech giant is preparing a new beta update for these S series phones.

According to reports, One UI 8.5 will bring major upgrades to Bixby. Additionally, a bug that occurs when clicking on the search history in the phone app will be fixed in an upcoming beta version.

In addition, it can resolve the issue of calls switching to the device speaker in certain situations when using a Bluetooth headset. In addition, an issue has been fixed in the upcoming beta build where there was a problem pasting phone numbers into the keypad after clicking on a call link.

Moreover, it will fix an issue where AI Select does not automatically close when “Copy” is selected.

Samsung started to roll out the January 2026 software update for the Korean models of Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 FE smartphones. This flagship device will be the next to grab One UI 8.5 as a major software release.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series January 2026 software update is released in batches with One UI 8 version SKT and a package size of 383 megabytes. Your Samsung Galaxy S24 series phone will get up to 55 fixes with the January 2026 patch. 

This update provides that both Android and One UI systems remain secure. It also improves performance by clearing the system-level cache partition during installation.

Samsung has started rolling out the January 2026 security update for more of its budget and mid-range phones. Now, two more devices, Samsung Galaxy M53 and Galaxy A06 4G, have joined the January 2026 security update.

The  Galaxy M53 is getting the January 2026 security update in Korea with the firmware version M536SKSSCGYL1. The Galaxy A06 4G is receiving it in Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam with version A065FXXS9CZA1.

Samsung’s January 2026 security patch includes up to 55 security fixes provided by Samsung, Google, and other partners. These fixes help protect the Galaxy phone from bugs, security risks, and any issues that might affect user privacy or performance.

However, the new update does not bring any new features or design changes. Instead, it focuses on improving stability and security.

If you have one of these devices, you can manually check for updates. Simply go to Settings > Software Update > Download and install. If an update is available, your phone will begin downloading it. Once the download is complete, tap Install now.
