Galaxy A33 January 2025 update

Samsung is working hard to roll out the Android 15-based One UI 7 to eligible devices. While the Galaxy S25 runs out of the box, it recently received the February 2025 update. Meanwhile, the company is still deploying the January 2025 security update to its Galaxy devices, and the Galaxy A33 5G is the latest to join this party.

The update has already been rolled out for flagship smartphones like the Galaxy S, Z series, and some Galaxy A series phones. The South Korean giant has now started rolling it out to its mid-range models.

Samsung Galaxy A33 5G is getting the new January 2025 security update with One UI A336BXXSCEXL1 version. The update does not make any major changes to the device. However, Galaxy phone holders will get to see performance optimization.

Installing January 2025 update on your Galaxy A33 phone will enable seamless operation of the device. Users can also get rid of unknown bugs lurking in the core system.  The update is currently live in Europe and the company will expand it soon. As always,  the update is rolling in batches and may take time to cover all the compatible units.

You can also try the manual installation. To do so, visit the Settings app and tap on Software Updates > Download and install. Now follow the on-screen steps. Don’t forget to keep sufficient storage and battery levels in your Galaxy phone.

January 2025 security update

Samsung has eliminated more than 50 vulnerabilities with the January 2025 security patch to improve security and stability. This figure includes 5 critical and 24 high-level CVEs, which are related to system modules and settings.

Apart from these vulnerabilities, the company has resolved 22 SVEs Samsung-specific problems that are generally related to  Sound Picker, Samsung Messages, Notification Manager, and Bootloader. Something more worthy is the “affected software versions” section.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 Geekbench

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has now appeared on Geekbench, revealing that the company is carrying out pre-launch tests and preparations for its new device. The latest listing also solves the chipset mystery that has been in rumours for a long time.

According to the Geekbench 6.4 listing, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 US variant with model number SM-F966U achieved  3022 points on single-core and 9307 points on multi-core tests.

The US variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has appeared on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Also, the phone is expected to run on Android 16-based One UI 8 operating system

Being a flagship folding handset, all these things sound quite good. Nevertheless, the actual performance will only be known once the device is officially launched in the consumer market. Inputs reveal that the chipset is clocked at 3.53 GHz base frequency.

Apart from this, the Korean tech giant can launch the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 around July this year. Also, an affordable flip model can also be introduced along with both the devices.
