Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 get December 2024 security update in more countries

Samsung has released the December 2024 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in Europe and India. Last week, the firmware update reached Samsung’s latest foldable phones in Korea, and over the next few days, more countries and regions will get access to this security patch.

The December 2024 security patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 is now available with One UI build versions F956BXXS2AXKC and F741BXXS2AXKC, respectively.

It is a relatively small software update, so its download size is well under 500MB, and you can install it even using a cellular connection. Hence, this update doesn’t bring any new features or performance gains to Samsung’s latest generation foldable phones.
As per the SMR, the December 2024 security patch fices over 45 security vulnerabilities found in previous firmware. It includes fixes for 2 critical and 28 high-level security flaws from Google. Moreover, Samsung also addressed fixes for 8 vulnerabilities that mainly related to the Theme Center, Galaxy Watch Bluetooth functionality, SmartSwitch, and Dex Mode.
If you have either of these two phones and live in Europe and India, you can check for the updates on your Galaxy devices by navigating to Settings.
Both phones are currently running on Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 software, but they will likely get the One UI 7 Beta update in the coming weeks to try new features and enhancements.
Next year, both foldable phones will get the Android 15-based One UI 7 update with brand new UI design, new app icons, new Galaxy AI features, and many new animations and transitions.
On the flip side, the company also gearing up to launch the One UI 7 beta 2 update for Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra in select countries.

Galaxy A55 receiving One UI June 2025 update

Samsung Galaxy A55 has started receiving the new One UI 7 update with June 2025 security patch. The firmware has been released for limited smartphone users in Southeast Asian countries. However, the company may start a wider software release soon.
The One UI 7 June 2025 security patch fixes a dozen vulnerabilities. It targets bugs hidden in the device system and ensures that private data remains secure. The firmware also fixes flaws that could allow malware to enter the phone.

The upcoming version is rolling out in Malaysia, Philippines, and Vietnam markets and will soon be available in other regions as well. In the meantime, you can check the update section of your device to perform a manual installation. Before proceeding, make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi connection as well as enough storage and battery level on your device.
The newest update is coming in batches. But in case you don’t receive it, you can visit the Settings app. Now, click on Software Updates and let the handset fetch the new version available on the server. If the update is available, click on the Download and install.

Samsung Galaxy S23 is receiving June 2025 update

Samsung is rolling out a June 2025 security update for the Galaxy S23 series smartphone in the home market, and it comes with EMUI software version S91xNKSS6DYE5 with a download package size of 450 megabytes. This update is much needed for this mega flagship and it will improve the security aspect of the phone.

Samsung starts preparing One UI 8.5 for Galaxy S26 series?

Samsung has reportedly started testing a new version of its One UI software for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, which could be One UI 8.5. The first news has recently surfaced online, showing that Samsung is working on the software for its next flagship Galaxy S series phones.
A reliable tipster has claimed that Samsung has started working on One UI 8.5 for next year’s Galaxy S series phones. This means the upcoming Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra could launch with One UI 8.5 software.

Additionally, with the beta 2 rollout, Samsung’s One UI 8 beta is now available in Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the US.
Additionally, the stable version of One UI 8 is expected to launch this summer, starting with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, with a rollout to other devices soon after.
