Gemini could combine with Samsung stock apps

Google’s Gemini could combine with Samsung stock apps. Samsung stock apps mean they come pre-installed on Galaxy devices. In an APK Teardown, Android Authority discovered that some Samsung stock apps including Samsung Calendar, Samsung Clock, Samsung Notes, and Samsung Reminder integrate Gemini to use Android 16’s App Functions.

Gemini Integrate clues were found by digging into the code of the Samsung Reminders app. The app’s code includes references to the com.android.extensions.appfunctions library and the app_functions.xml file.

Upon further digging into the XML file, the source revealed that Google’s Gemini will be able to perform several functions through Samsung’s stock apps.

  • Samsung Clock:
    • Create/delete/find/update/show alarms
    • Start/stop/rest stopwatch
    • Create/delete/find/update/show timers
  • Samsung Notes:

    • Create/delete/find/update/show notes
  • Samsung Reminder:
    • Create/delete/find/update/show task categories
    • Create/delete/find/update/show tasks
  • Samsung Calendar:

It is worth noting that the Korean tech giant had halted the rollout a few days ago due to a serious bug discovered in the initial update, so it is now rolling out a new firmware that will fix this issue.
