Alongside the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy S24 FE is getting the latest December 2024 security update in Europe. The December 2024 Android security patch is rolling out the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, and S24 FE in several European countries, following a similar firmware rollout in the US.
Galaxy S24 series, S24 FE get December 2024 security update in Europe
Users of the Galaxy S24 series including FE can identify the update with the following build mentioned below, and users will have to download an approximate 453.76 MB package to install it.
- Galaxy S24: S921BXXS4AXKA
- Galaxy S24+: S926BXXS4AXKA
- Galaxy S24 Ultra: S928BXXS4AXKA
- Galaxy S24 FE: S721BXXS3AXK6
The Galaxy S24 series is not receiving any changes other than security improvements with the latest update. However, Galaxy S24 FE users with this update bring a new mode in Auto Blocker. When this mode is enabled, the Galaxy device will only charge from any USB-connected device, and no data will be transferred.
Notable, the December 2024 security patch includes fixes for 34 security vulnerabilities discovered in all Android devices and 10 vulnerabilities that put only Galaxy devices at risk.
How to update
If you have a Galaxy S24 series phone and live in Europe you can install this update. To do that, navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
As of this writing, only some Galaxy devices have received the December 2024 patch, which includes the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy S24 series including FE.
Samsung One UI 7 Beta program
Samsung has already started the One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S24 series users in Europe including Germany and the UK. However, the Galaxy S24 FE is not eligible for the beta version, so the Fan Edition has to wait much longer to test the One UI 7 features and improvements.
Galaxy S24 series including Galaxy S24 FE devices are eligible e for 7 generations of Android OS upgrades, so it will get major Android upgrades up to Android 21.
