Android 15-based One UI 7 development for Galaxy smartphones continues to pick up pace as we move closer to the Beta program. Today, the first Android 15/One UI 7 test firmware finally was spotted on Samsung’s servers for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
The Galaxy’s fifth generation of foldable smartphones is expected to be among the first batch of devices that get the One UI 7 beta program later this year, but for some reason, Android 15 testing for the 2023 foldable lineup has not yet begun in earnest. This arrives just a couple of days after test builds were discovered for the other Galaxy S23 series including Galaxy S23 FE.
According to the information, the first One UI 7 build spotted for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 carries firmware versions F946BXXU4EXKN and F731BXXU4EXKN, respectively. Simultaneously, these builds also suggest that the testing development of the next major update progresses.
Based on the Android 15, the One UI 7 is expected to bring new security features, new elements, customization options, performance improvements, and more.
Samsung has delayed this year’s beta program and Google already released the Android 16 Developer Preview. The owners of Galaxy S24 smartphones still missing out on access to the One UI 7 Beta.
Samsung will announce the official Android 15-based One UI 7 update in 2025, alongside the launch of the Galaxy S25 series.
