Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 smartphone users are getting the December 2024 Android security patch in Canada. This update comes with better system security and stability alongside fixes 6 critical and 28 High-level of CVEs to boost the overall device functionality.

As of now, you can identify this update via the firmware version F956WVLS2AXKC and F741WVLS2AXKC for Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, respectively.

Samsung has released the December 2024 security patch to the factory-locked unit of Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 devices on Verizon network carrier in the US. This update was released in Korea last week and in Indian and European markets Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 units yesterday and the company will expand it more.

Users of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 can identify the December 2024 security patch on Verizon network carrier in the US via firmware numbers F956USQS2AXKF and F741USQS2AXKF, respectively.

The South Korean tech giant is rolling out the latest security patch with system security enhancements to keep your essential information safe on your phone. Plus this update also optimizes system stability and reliability to offer a seamless user experience.

Notable, the December 2024 security patch includes fixes from Google and Samsung. Google patch covers 6 critical and 28 high-level issues with 1 previously addressed and 1 irrelevant to Galaxy devices.

Samsung’s patches fix 8 vulnerabilities related to  Theme Center, Galaxy Watch Bluetooth functionality, SmartSwitch, and Dex Mode. Samsung Semiconductor also added 2 high-level fixes to improve overall performance.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 owners on Verizon can download the December 2024 security update over the air from the phone’s Settings >> Software menu, and click on Download and Install.

One UI 7 development

Aside from this, the company is regularly working to make the One UI 7 beta program for more countries for the Galaxy S24 series. Recently a report that Indian users of Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra will get the Beta update on December 12. This beta program lets Galaxy users try new features and enhancements of the One UI 7 ahead of a stable release.

Samsung plans to release the One UI 7 stable version in Q1 of 2025 with the upcoming Galaxy S series devices and after that Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will get the One UI 7 software update.

Samsung has started rolling out the April 2025 One UI 7 update for Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra in India. 

Users of the Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphones are getting the April 2025 security update in India via One UI builds S931BXXU2AYD9, S936BXXU2AYD9, and S938BXXU2AYD9, respectively.

This new security update improves system security and stability to provide a better experience. It also fixes several issues that occurred in previous versions to improve performance.

April 2025 security patch fixes 4 critical, 36 high, and 5 that do not apply to Samsung devices. Moreover, it contains 1 high-level CVE from Samsung Semiconductor. The update also includes 21 SVE items to improve user experience, addressing issues in the Sticker Center, Clipboard Service, Samsung Contacts, Galaxy Watch wireless download, Samsung Device Health Manager Service, and more.

Android 16 Beta is now available for these Samsung Galaxy S25 rivals

Today, with beta 4 Google expanded Android 16 Beta to select non-Pixel flagship devices from partner brands. Samsung, as always, is skipping the Android 16 Beta Program, while the new OS is available for select devices launched by Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, vivo, and Xiaomi.

Google released Android 16 beta 4 with a second version of platform stability and announced that apps compatible with the new OS will now be available on the Play Store.

Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Vivo, and Xiaomi have opened beta registration windows for their latest flagship devices launched in the last few months. Samsung, however, is yet to complete One UI 7 for its Galaxy devices, but will soon roll out the stable One UI 7 and launch an independent One UI beta program.

Last week, it was revealed that the company is already working on Android 16’s adaptation and testing the alleged One UI 8 on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 smartphones.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 goes on Geekbench with Snapdragon 8 Elite, One UI 8 ahead of launch

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has now appeared on Geekbench, revealing that the company is carrying out pre-launch tests and preparations for its new device. The latest listing also solves the chipset mystery that has been in rumours for a long time.

According to the Geekbench 6.4 listing, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 US variant with model number SM-F966U achieved  3022 points on single-core and 9307 points on multi-core tests.

The US variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has appeared on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Also, the phone is expected to run on Android 16-based One UI 8 operating system

Being a flagship folding handset, all these things sound quite good. Nevertheless, the actual performance will only be known once the device is officially launched in the consumer market. Inputs reveal that the chipset is clocked at 3.53 GHz base frequency. 

Apart from this, the Korean tech giant can launch the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 around July this year. Also, an affordable flip model can also be introduced along with both the devices.
