Right now, users of the Galaxy S24 series are eligible to test Samsung’s One UI 7 features ahead of the stable release. Recently, community forum pages have surfaced for the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy S23 series. Now, new information suggests that not just the flagship models but also Galaxy A series phones like the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A54 5G could get the One UI 7 beta.

Samsung Galaxy A55, A54 may get One UI 7 Beta

A reliable tipster has spotted the One UI 7 Beta forum page for the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G. This suggests that the Korean tech giant could be getting ready to release the One UI 7 Beta for these phones soon.

Additionally, a new software build has been found for the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A54 5G, indicating that One UI 7 beta testing is already underway internally. The software version is A556EXXU6ZYB6 and A546EXXUBZYB8, respectively, which suggests that the company is getting ready to release a beta to these Galaxy A series phone.

Earlier rumors mentioned that the company plans to start rolling out the stable version of One UI 7 in April 2025. If that happens, the company could expand the One UI 7 program to more Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy A55, and Galaxy A54 smartphones as March 2025 kicks off.

Many Galaxy flagship phone users were disappointed that the One UI 7 beta was only available for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. But now, they will be happy to know that they may soon get a chance to test it on their phones.

Currently, we suggest taking this information with a pinch of salt as Samsung is yet to confirm anything regarding the expansion of One UI 7 beta.

One UI 8 Beta closed

Days after kicking off the One UI 8 Beta, Samsung closed new enrollment in the US. The Beta Program devices are the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Program is available in Germany, Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Two days ago, Samsung confirmed that both the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7 will come with stable One UI 8. This means that users of these Galaxy foldable devices will enjoy all the new features right out of the box. After that, Samsung will gradually release the update for more Galaxy phones and end the beta program.

Samsung One UI 8 Beta closed

AdamJMatlock on X noticed that the new One UI 8 beta enrollment for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra has closed in the US. This means that the Samsung Members app is no longer accepting new registrations and is informing users that the beta program has reached its capacity. Now, you have to wait for the program to reopen to register.

In addition, Samsung Members is the key to unlock the One UI 8 beta program. The beta program banner is shown on the home page of the app. Clicking on the beta banner takes you to a short process to finish the registration.

Just like One UI 7 beta registrations, One UI 8 beta registrations crossed the line within a few days of the program’s official launch. This is not surprising news, as Galaxy fans have been eagerly waiting for the Android 16 beta software ever since the stable version rollout for Pixel devices.

Until then, you have no official opportunity to get the latest update on your Galaxy S25 series. Manually flashing the OTA is a solution to get it right away. However, we don’t suggest doing this on your primary Galaxy device as it may cause data loss.

One UI 8 predictive back

As you know, Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7 offered the predictive back feature only in Google applications and not in stock apps on Galaxy phones and tablets. Samsung’s Android 16-based One UI 8 for Galaxy phones and tablets expands the predictive back feature to Samsung’s stock apps, according to a report.

On the other hand, Samsung fans are excited about the next big software update for the Galaxy device. One UI 8 beta has officially launched, with the Korean tech giant confirming the program and releasing the first beta update.

After installing and digging, Android Authority has found that on the Galaxy S25 with One UI 8 beta, Predictive Back also works in some of Samsung’s stock apps, including:

  • Clock
  • Calculator
  • Weather
  • Settings
  • Voice Recorder
  • Contacts

Unfortunately, Android 15 predictive back doesn’t work in some other stock apps, including Calendar and Reminders.

With One UI 8, you can see that there is now a toggle for Predictive back animation visible in the Developer Options menu. Notably, this setting can be found via the Settings search bar in One UI 7, but won’t show up when tapped, almost like it’s hidden.
