More Samsung Galaxy S22 users getting January 2025 security update
While Samsung Galaxy users are waiting for One UI 7, Samsung is only delivering the January 2024 Android security update for the phone. Samsung Galaxy S22 January 2025 update is expanding in Europe at the moment. It comes with One UI build version S90xBXXSDEXL1.
January 23: India
Samsung will likely start releasing the One UI 7 update for older smartphones gradually after February 7. Meanwhile, Samsung has released the January 2025 security update for Galaxy S22 series smartphones in India. This update is already available to users in Korea and the US and the company will soon make it available for all models.
A couple of hours ago, Samsung released the same update for Gaalxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Gaalxy S24 Ultra in India with security and stability improvements. Samsung has beginning of month released the January 2025 security patch. As per the official details, the patch fixes over 50 privacy exploits in the smartphone system.
Apart from the new security fixes, the update does not bring any new features or improvements to the device. But you may notice some performance optimizations with this software. The update has been rolling out gradually and may take some time to reach all eligible units.
The January 2025 security update for the Galaxy S22 series devices in India can be identified through the One UI build versions given below.
- Galaxy S22: S901EXXSBEYA1
- Galaxy S22+: S906EXXSBEYA1
- Galaxy S22 Ultra: S908EXXSBEYA1
Make sure your device has enough storage space as the software weighs about 450 megabytes. We also recommend using a stable Wi-Fi or Internet connection.
Hence, install the new firmware as soon as it reaches your Galaxy S22 device. In case you have not received the update alert yet then visit Settings >> Software Updates. Now tap on the Download and Install and let the device search for the newest versions.
This new update is based on Onei 6.1 and the company is internally testing the One UI 15 based on Android 7 build for the Galaxy S series devices. It is expected that the Galaxy S22 phones in this series will receive a stable update once the beta program for the Galaxy S24 series ends.
Notably, Samsung will likely release the One UI 7 stable update for the Galaxy S24 series after February 07, 2025. This update will introduce several new features, especially those powered by Galaxy AI.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series starts receiving first software update
On February 25, Samsung launched the Galaxy S26 series, and these phones will be available starting March 11. Now, the Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra are receiving their first software update in the US.
Currently, this update is being rolled out to carrier-locked Galaxy S26 devices in the US. Samsung first released this update in South Korea, and subsequently extended its availability to Europe and India. This update brings significant improvements to the smartphones’ performance and reliability.
The first software update of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series in the US can be identified as version S941USQS1AZC7. Users will have to download a software package of 534.81MB.
This update improves the stability of the Galaxy S26 series and also includes the February 2026 security update. Users can expect more reliable battery performance, which is beneficial for extended usage and the overall lifespan of the device.

To manually download the update, go to Settings >> Software Update >> Download and Install. Once the download is complete, tap Restart/Install Now to complete the installation. Make sure your phone is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network and has enough battery.
In addition to the security update, Samsung is also working on One UI 8.5. The beta version is currently available for the Galaxy S25 series in some regions, and Samsung has confirmed that the stable version will launch with the Galaxy S26 series tomorrow. Stay tuned for more details.

Galaxy Tab S10 FE tablet users install January 2026 security update

Samsung’s January 2026 security patch addresses 55 security vulnerabilities. Google helped fix one critical vulnerability and 20 high-risk issues found in Android. Samsung also added 30 additional security fixes specifically for Galaxy phones. These fixes address both critical and medium-level risks.
