The Galaxy S26 could offer 25% faster 5G download speeds than the Galaxy S25

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series may get subtle upgrades over the Galaxy S25 series. A new input underlines some potential changes that the Galaxy S26 could offer 25% faster 5G download speeds than the Galaxy S25.
Now, new information has emerged about the release of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2, which could power the Galaxy S26 series. Although details about the processor are light at the moment, Qualcomm has introduced a new modem, the Qualcomm X85 5G Modem-RF with integrated Qualcomm 5G AI processor, which we could see in the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.

The company has introduced the Qualcomm X85 5G Modem-RF, an eighth-generation 5G modem-to-antenna solution and a fourth-generation AI-powered 5G connectivity system. It is worth mentioning that it provides 12.5 Gbps download and 3.7 Gbps upload speed on 5G networks.
Whereas, the X80 5G Modem-RF in the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Galaxy S25 series offers up to 10Gbps download and 3.5Gbps upload speeds. Hence, the Galaxy S26 series with the X85 5G Modem-RF will deliver 25% faster download and 5.8% faster upload speeds on 5G networks compared to the Galaxy S25.
In addition to the Qualcomm X85, the company is also announcing the Qualcomm X82 5G Modem-RF. This is a 5G modem-to-antenna solution optimized for mainstream adoption of mobile broadband applications, supporting multi-gigabit download and upload speeds.
While some rumors suggest that the upcoming Galaxy S series of phones may feature a Qualcomm chip, it is also possible that Samsung could power it with the Exynos 2600, at least in some markets.
