Samsung teases Slim Galaxy S25 Edge at Galaxy Unpacked with Dual camera setup
Yesterday, January 22, Samsung launched its three Galaxy S25 series phones, the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra at a Galaxy Unpacked event. In addition to this, Samsung also teased the first kind of Samsung, the Galaxy S25 Edge, an ultra-slim phone with a dual camera setup at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025.
Galaxy S25 Edge brings an amazing design with dual camera
As we know, the company will tease the Galaxy S25 Slim when it is unpacked, and the name Galaxy S25 Edge was briefly showcased on stage during the Galaxy Unpacked event yesterday. Although Samsung did not reveal how slim it is, the visual below shows that it is very thin.
Other than that, it follows the same design language as other Galaxy S25 devices. It also appears to have only two cameras on the back. It appeared with a few exceptions and unveiled an all-new plaid design.
The Korean tech giant will not launch the Galaxy S25 Edge along with other phones in the Galaxy S25 series. Plus, the phone may be launched in the second or third quarter of this year.
Previous reports have claimed that the Galaxy S25 Edge (Slim) features a 6.7-inch screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, 5000mAh battery, and a dual camera setup that includes a 200-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.
Samsung has reportedly started developing One UI 8 for the Galaxy A56 smartphone. The company has already released an Android 16-based One UI 8 Beta for Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Just recently, a new build for the Galaxy A56 smartphone has surfaced, indicating that Samsung is internally working on One UI 8. The build, identified as A566BXXU4BYF7, has been spotted via a reliable tipster, @tarunvats33. Testing is underway for the European variant as PLS is Poland’s CSC code.
The Samsung Galaxy A56 smartphone is currently running on Android 15-based One UI 7. However, users are waiting for the next major update to try out new features. The special thing is that this device is eligible for the first major software update as One UI 8.
Based on Android 16, One UI 8 focuses on improving the experience of apps, including productivity, multitasking, reminders, calendar, modes and routines, and health. The software’s phone system, camera, security, privacy, and accessibility are also getting improvements.
Currently, Samsung Galaxy S25 series users can enjoy these new features through the One UI 8 Beta Program. The company is also planning to release One UI 8 Beta 3 for the Galaxy S25 series phone. However, older Galaxy smartphones might not receive the One UI 8 Beta update.
With the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 series, the company will release the stable One UI 8 update.
Samsung fans are eagerly awaiting the next evolution in software, and the recent leak has provided a glimpse into what the future holds. The latest development comes from GeekBench, where the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy Z Fold 5 have been spotted running on One UI 8 and Android 16.
According to Alfaturk, Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus and Z Fold 5 smartphones have appeared with One UI 8 and Android 16. The Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy Z Fold 5 have achieved single-core scores of 1466 and 1995 and multi-core scores of 3000 and 5055, respectively. We can expect significant performance improvements with the next major update.
It offers a glimpse into what consumers can expect from Samsung’s next software for Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus and Z Fold 5 smartphones. Notably, One UI 8 is going to be the last OS upgrade for the Galaxy S22 series and the second-to-last update for the Z Fold5 and Flip5.
Samsung is set to unveil Android 16-based One UI 8 next month, which will come pre-installed on the new foldable Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. The company will expand the new features and enhancements to the older models through updates.
On the other hand, Samsung is getting ready to release a new beta update for the Galaxy S25 series. Also, the first internal testing build of One UI 8 has been spotted for the Samsung Galaxy S24. This hints that the One UI 8 beta program may soon be available for Galaxy S24 users as well.
Samsung is releasing the June 2025 update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra users, which installs new improvements to enhance the device’s system stability. It is currently rolling out to limited users. But the company will soon expand it to more phone holders.
One UI June 2025 update for the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra devices is rolling out with the One UI versions S901NKS7FYF1, S906NKS7FYF1, and S908NKS7FYF1.
It has a downloadable package with a size of 500 MB. The size of the package indicates that the new firmware may include performance improvements and other internal changes for the device. It may optimize the strength aspects for seamless functioning of the Galaxy phone.
The latest update does not bring any new security patch to the device, but makes some improvements to the system stability. It optimizes some aspects of the Galaxy device to provide a smooth and efficient experience in every task.
For starters, Samsung is is releasing the new update in batches in Korea. It will take some time to reach all users. Though we suggest not skipping any new builds, as they may work as a baseline version for upcoming major software upgrades.
The update mainly brings the June 2025 security patch that eliminates 36 high-level Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) provided by Google and 19 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVEs). Thus, installing the new patch on your device will unlock an efficient and bug-free experience.
