Galaxy S25 super fast charging

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra’s battery and charging specs are the same as the S24 Ultra on paper. However, the new flagship phones are better than their predecessors in terms of real-life usage. But it seems that’s not the case, with many Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Plus owners reporting that their phones are facing super fast charging issue.

Samsung Galaxy S25 has a super fast charging issue in some scenarios

Some owners of the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra are reporting slow charging and intermittent charging interruptions.

Furthermore, some have reported that the charger they used to fast charge their Galaxy S24 devices does not work properly with the Galaxy S25, taking a few hours to fill the battery to a respectable level. Also, they reported that this happens when the phone is showing “Super Charging 2.0” on the lock screen.

For some people, the Galaxy S25+ and Ultra phones refuse to charge, constantly switching between connected and disconnected states with the adapter.

This is not the user experience you would expect from a device of this flagship caliber. Fortunately, this is not a major issue, and Samsung has confirmed that Galaxy S25 super fast charging issue will be fixed via a future software update.

Furthermore, Samsung also suggested that affected Galaxy S25 owners use the 3A cable bundled with the phone instead of the 5A USB-C cable for charging.

It’s worth noting that this issue only pertains to wired fast charging and doesn’t affect wireless charging. Furthermore, it seems to be limited to the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra, as the standard Galaxy S25 isn’t affected by 25W fast charging.

Recently, Samsung has started rolling out the first update for the Galaxy S25 series, and this issue might be solved. As the official release note mentions improvements in charging.
