You don’t need a separate 5A cable for 45W charging speeds on the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra
Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra are designed with convenience in mind, and super fast charging is an important part of delivering that experience. To make sure you get the most out of Samsung’s 45W fast charging capability requires a 5A cable (10V and 4.5A) for the older flagship Galaxy devices.
Now, a report that the Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra can charge at 45W (Super Fast Charging 2.0) using the USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable that comes in their boxes.
This means Galaxy S25 series users don’t need to use a 5A cable to get the maximum 45W charging speed, saving both time and money. Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra users can now use any USB PD PPS charger that supports 45W with the in-box 3A USB cable.
Earlier tests show that the Galaxy S25 Ultra charges faster than its predecessor, even at a maximum charging speed of 45W. It takes 30 minutes to reach 60%, 40 minutes to reach 80%, and 57 minutes to reach 100%.
One more benefit of 15V 3A compared to 10V 4.5A is that the charging lets the same amount of power be provided with less current, which is more efficient and reduces heat generation
As per the press note, using 45W fast charging, the Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra can charge up to 65% in about 30 minutes, while the Galaxy S25 battery gets charged up to 50% in about 30 minutes with a 25W adapter and 3A USB-C.
On the other hand, Chinese smartphone brands are offering charging speeds of up to 80W or even 100W for their phones, while Samsung is sticking to a maximum of 45W fast charging for Galaxy phones.
Last month, a report suggested that Samsung is working on bringing high-speed 50W wireless charging to the mainstream. the company introduced a new power management integrated chip (PMIC), the S2MIW06, and it manages wireless charging. The chip allows for much faster wireless charging at up to 50W in receiver mode.
Verizon recently rolled out the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6. Now, Samsung is rolling out the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphones in the US. The update is available for locked models of these 5th-generation foldables on the Verizon network.
One UI 7 update arrives on Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphones in the US through One UI build versions F731USQU6EYD9 and F946USQU6EYD9 respectively. The company will soon expand this update to all network carriers in the US.
Based on Android 15, the One UI 7 update brings several new features and enhancements to deliver a next-level experience. Samsung’s One UI 7 update introduces a separate Quick Settings and Notification Panel with the new layout. Also, it adds new features, including Now Bar and Live Notifications, which significantly improve the overall experience.
Apart from new features and enhancements, the update brings the April 2025 security patch to improve system security and stability. Also, it fixes several issues and updates the app to the latest version to improve the overall experience.
As always, this is a gradual rollout so it may take a few hours or days to reach all models. To manually check for a software update, go to your phone’s Settings. At the bottom, you’ll find the Software Update section, just open it. Inside the submenu, if your Galaxy brings a new OTA, you’ll need to hit the Download and Install button.

The first One UI 7 update with the April 2025 security patch is rolling out to the Galaxy A56 after its launch
Samsung has begun rolling out the first update for the Galaxy A56, which installs the April 2025 security patch to enhance security and stability. It is available for users in Europe and will soon expand to more countries. This update makes your Galaxy device more secure, stable, and reliable.

Samsung’s April 2025 security patch addresses over 60 issues, including 4 critical, 36 high, and 5 that do not apply to Samsung devices. This patch further includes 1 high-level CVE from Samsung Semiconductor.
In addition, Samsung has fixed 21 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVEs). These SVEs improvements are mainly related to Sticker Center, Clipboard Service, Samsung Contacts, Galaxy Watch wireless download, Samsung Device Health Manager Service, and more.

Apart from this, Samsung has recently started rolling out the May 2025 update for the Galaxy A55. The company will soon roll out this update to more devices.
