One UI 7 removed features

Users of flagship models, the Galaxy S24 series in some markets enjoy the One UI 7 features ahead of the official release, and soon the One UI 7 Beta program will be expanded to other Samsung Galaxy phones, such as Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 series, and even latest foldable devices Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. In addition to enhanced UI design, improved device performance, better security, and privacy, One UI 7 has removed some interesting features that Galaxy users will definitely miss.

One UI 7 removed some features that Samsung fans will definitely miss

One UI 7 has undergone a remarkable transformation since the arrival of One UI. However, the One UI 7 version removed some existing features alongside the platform upgrade to Android 15. Here are some removed features that Galaxy users will definitely miss.

Pop-up Windows’s Transparency adjustments

Until One UI 6.1, you can adjust the transparency of the pop-up window. However, Samsung removed the transparency adjustments option from the top toolbox, so you can not adjust transparency in the One UI 7 beta. It may be a bug or the option will be fixed in the stable version.

Edit Home Screen in Landscape Mode

On the previous One UI version, you can rearrange icons or widgets in landscape mode. However, One UI 7 no longer accesses this functionality. While, One UI 7 improved  Home screen landscape view with a more consistent look and widgets now have a similar aspect ratio and text labels appear below icons instead of beside them.

Lock Screen Widget Carousel

On One UI 6.1.1 and earlier, Samsung lets users add certain widgets to the lock screen and access them by tapping the lock screen clock. This functionality was removed with the One UI 7.0 beta update. Now, when you click on the lock screen clock, the device simply displays the clock.

Edge Panels from Galaxy Store

One UI 7 restricts the ability to download the additional Edge panels from the Galaxy Store. Now, you can only use pre-installed Edge Panels on your Galaxy devices in One UI 7 update.

AR Zone in Camera app

With One UI 6.1.1, you can access features like AR Doodle, AR Emoji Camera, AR Emoji Studio, AR Emoji Stickers, Deco Pic, and Quick Measure through the Stock Camera app’s AR Zone section. With One UI 7, Samsung makes AR Zone, Deco Pic, and Quick Measure converted into standalone apps with One UI 7.0.

Windows on DeX

Along with One UI 7, Samsung is quietly shutting down its DeX app on Windows with its One UI 7 update. It turns your phone into a PC, allowing you to mirror your phone screen to a PC and easily drag and drop files between devices. Click here to know why it was removed.
