Samsung is making further progress on One UI 7 development for Galaxy devices this week. Android 15-based One UI 7 firmware that Samsung is testing for the Galaxy M15 internally has been spotted on the Geekbench. This comes just a day after stable builds were discovered for the Galaxy S24 models spotted on the company’s servers

Galaxy M15 spotted with Android 15 and One UI 7

A few days ago, the Galaxy M14 was spotted online running One UI 7. Today, its successor, the Galaxy M15 5G was spotted doing the same (via @tarunvats). The device was found in the Geekbench database running Android 15, which will likely form the basis for One UI 7 for Samsung’s smartphones and tablets.

According to the Geekbench listing, the Galaxy M15 with model number SM-M156B scored 691 points on single-core and 1906 points on multi-core tests. Being a budget handset, these scores seem pretty good. Yet the actual performance will only be known once the Android 15 officially enters the consumer market.

The One UI 7.0 beta program went live for the Galaxy S24 series in select regions a month ago. Now, we are using the third beta build on the Galaxy S24 series, and it seems like we are getting closer to the next stage of the testing process.

Also, we suspect that the company will prioritize rolling out the stable One UI 7 update on flagship Galaxy devices like the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, and the latest flagship phones.

Other budget Galaxy M-series devices are expected to receive One UI 7 in the third quarter of this year, including the Galaxy M33, Galaxy M34, Galaxy M53, Galaxy M54, Galaxy M55, and Galaxy M55s.

The next Galaxy S25 series is expected to ship with Android 15-based One UI 7.x out of the box. Samsung will announce Galaxy Unpacked 2025 on January 22, but fans can now reserve the Galaxy S25 for exclusive bonuses.

One UI 8 Samsung Phone widget

Samsung One UI 8 is set to come to Galaxy devices with a new design and animations. Meanwhile, a report says that One UI 8 is set to bring widget support to the Samsung Phone app for personalization.

On online forums, some rumors claim that Samsung is set to launch Android 7-based One UI 7 along with the next-generation foldable phones, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 16, in July. The Korean tech giant is expected to release the One UI 7 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series and some more eligible flagships soon. Samsung is also planning to launch the Galaxy S26 series with One UI 8.5.

The latest update includes a widget for Samsung phones, as spotted by a reliable tipster. The widget has been modified to make it more functional and user-friendly to make it easier to search and find what you need.

The One UI 8 Samsung Phone app widget adjusts to your preferred light or dark display settings. The header mentioned “Recents” and the subsequent section shows the three most recent calls, that too with the respective types like outgoing, incoming, and missed through icons.

Also, the Recent Calls widget default layout includes two options within the widgets section, including 2×2 and 4×2. As per the report, you can stack the widgets, but there is no customisation section right now.

Samsung Galaxy One UI 7

In Korea, Samsung has kicked off the Android 15-based One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Tab S10, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy  Z Fold5, and Galaxy Z Flip5. The update follows the One UI 7 deployment for Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy  Z Fold5, as well as Galaxy Z Flip5 users in the same region, which began earlier.

These users are among the first to experience this update, which promises a smoother, more intuitive experience with a refined user interface, improved performance, enhanced privacy controls, and new customization options that align with Samsung’s vision for a seamless and intuitive user experience.

One UI 7 comes with a brand new look for your Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Tab S10, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Z Fold5, and Galaxy Z Flip5, including a sleeker user interface, smoother animations for maximum interactions, and an improved flow across the system.

Over the next few days and weeks, the Korean tech giant will open up the One UI 7 distribution to older flagships like the Galaxy S22 and S21 series, Galaxy Z Flip 4/3, and Z Fold 4/3.

To note, the company has started the US rollout for select devices, including the S24 series, Z Fold6, and Z Flip6 from April 10, but the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Tab S10, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Z Fold5, and Galaxy Z Flip5 and others are still pending. The company’s phased approach prioritises flagships, with mid-range devices like the Galaxy A-series scheduled for June.

Your device should send a notification for a software upgrade. In the meantime, you can manually get the latest software from Samsung’s servers by navigating through Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Galaxy S22 One UI 7

Samsung users can try out One UI 7 on the Galaxy S22 Plus virtually. The update’s rollout hasn’t yet begun, but the company is moving towards kicking off a public rollout next month. Samsung’s latest RTL refresh brings One UI 7 to the  Galaxy S22 series, but users may be disappointed as they miss out on 5 major AI features with One UI 7.

One UI 7 is available on the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Notably, the latest flagships exclusively run the Stable One UI 7, last year’s flagships have Beta access to the software, and the Galaxy S22+ is eligible for RTL.

The RTL listing was recently updated as a video spread on Reddit and X that shows One UI 7 running on a Galaxy S22+ using Samsung’s Remote Test Lab.

The video reveals that the update for the S22 series will not include many of the cutting-edge AI features found in Samsung’s latest Galaxy S25 series.

  • Audio Eraser
  • Drawing Assist
  • Now Brief
  • Drawing Assist
  • Writing Assist

This development suggests that One UI 7 is ready for numerous Galaxy devices. The stable rollout is expected to begin early next month for the Galaxy S22 series and is expected to expand quickly.
