One UI 7 brings two new features to Samsung Messages
With One UI 7, the Galaxy S25 series gets two new features in the Samsung Messages app for an improved messaging experience: Message Editing and Automatic Deletion of OTP Messages.
Message Editing
Samsung has introduced a new feature in the Samsung Messages app called Edit Message. With this feature, you can edit any message up to 15 minutes after sending it and it will be updated for everyone in the chat. The edited message will have “Edited” written next to the timestamp.
To edit a message, long-press the message you want to edit, then choose Edit and update your message. When you’re finished, tap the check mark to update your message.
Apart from this, the Edit feature of the Samsung Messages app only works on messages sent to other Galaxy phones with One UI 7.

Automatic Deletion of OTP Messages
Automatic Deletion of OTP Messages is another Samsung Messages app feature that is debuting with One UI 7 and Galaxy S25. When this feature is turned on, OTP messages move to the trash after 24 hours, and after 30 days, they are permanently deleted. By default, this security feature is turned off, but you can easily activate it for added security.
To turn on this feature, below are the steps:
- Open the Messages app
- Tap the three dots in the top-right corner
- Go to Settings,
- Then Select the Additional Setting and toggle on Auto delete of OTP messages.

The two new messaging features in Samsung Messages are currently limited to the Galaxy S25 series with One UI 7. Once One UI 7 reaches more Galaxy phones, these display options will become available to more gamers.
Now that Samsung has launched the Galaxy S25, the first phone to run on One UI 7.0, all stock apps are being updated with the new design language. The Galaxy S25 series is available on Samsung.com and retail stores from February 7 and all stock apps can be used with the latest design.
