Samsung files upload Gemini

Along with the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung has introduced Gemini Advance for free for a period of 6 months from the day you redeem the Offer as part of its partnership with Google. Now here’s the good news Google has made its Gemini app even more useful by allowing all Samsung Galaxy users to upload and analyze files for free.

However, this feature was only available to those who were subscribers to the Gemini Advanced plan, but now it is available to everyone, even those using the free version of the app. In May 2024, Google updated Gemini with the ability to upload files. It can analyze them, provide information about them, and allow users to ask questions about the files.

According to the Google support page, You can upload and analyze files including documents and spreadsheets to the Gemini Apps to get answers, summaries, and insights about your content. Notably, you must have Gemini Advanced to upload and analyze files. Here you can see that the supported file types include:

  • Plain text files: TXT
  • Code files including C, CPP, PY, JAVA, PHP, SQL, and HTML
  • Document files: DOC, DOCX, PDF, RTF, DOT, DOTX, HWP, HWPX
  • Documents created in Google Docs
  • Tabular data files: CSV, TSV
  • Spreadsheet files: XLS, XLSX
  • Spreadsheets created in Google Sheets

The Gemini app lets you upload up to 10 files at a time, each of 100MB. Specifically, you can upload up to 1000 files at a time to a code folder, but the folder size must be 100MB.

According to the information, the new files upload feature of Gemini has been spotted on Samsung Galaxy S23 users in India, but it is not live on the web version of Gemini yet. We hope Google will make it available on more platforms soon.
