Samsung is rolling out a brand new software update for the Galaxy S22 series, which brings a load of security enhancements for consumers with February 2025 firmware. Samsung continues to feed the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra with new firmware and the latest one also aims to improve this flagship in all aspects. The update is rolling out in Europe and the brand will expand it to more devices soon.
According to the information, the February 2025 firmware update for the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are tagged with the One UI version S901BXXSDEYA1, S901BXXSDEYA1, and S908BXXSDEYA1, respecively. Meanwhile, we suggest keeping around 300MB storage to carry out the installation smoothly.
Moreover, the company increases the stability aspects of the Galaxy device so that the old device doesn’t face any problems in long-term usage. At the same time, the Korean tech giant integrates the February 2025 patch to secure the phone’s current health from harmful malware and security threats.
Therefore, you should prioritize the new Galaxy S22 update for your handset. If you haven’t received the version, check the system settings. Once done, scroll down and tap on the “Software Update” tab, followed by the “Download and Install” button.
According to SMR, the February 2025 security patch fixes 1 critical and 34 high-level CVEs from Google, including two CVEs not relevant to Samsung devices. In addition, the firmware also includes 7 SVE items to improve user experience, addressing issues in the Samsung Find app, Android settings, and more.
The latest security update is based on Android 14 and One UI 6.1. However, Samsung Galaxy S22 users are eagerly waiting for the Android 15 and One UI 7 update. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S22 users may get One UI 7 update next month after the Galaxy S23.
