Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G’s OLED screen could feature CoE technology

Samsung fans are looking forward to the Galaxy S25 series, meanwhile, a piece of new information has been revealed about the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may be equipped with an innovative OLED screen with CoE technology. A new report suggests that Samsung’s flagship phones next year will have even brighter and more efficient screens.
A report from TheElec claims that the Galaxy S26 Ultra might be equipped with Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technology for the Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G’s OLED screen. If this report is true then the S26 Ultra will be the first bar-type smartphone equipped with Samsung’s CoE display technology.
The report further claims that this technology brings higher screen brightness and improves the power efficiency of OLED screens
The CoE technology is already available on Foldable smartphones. It was launched alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphone OLED screen in 2021. Plus, the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 6 also uses an OLED screen featuring Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technology.
Samsung’s innovative CoE screen technology
Samsung’s innovative CoE screen technology replaces the polarizer with a color filter (in existing OLED displays). Also, it changes the usual PDL (pixel-defined layer) to a black PDL. As a result, the screen becomes thinner, light transmission increases and power consumption can be reduced.
