Galaxy S26 Ultra could the first Galaxy S phone to use Under Display Camera tech
Samsung is the only smartphone maker that can hide the camera under the display of a commercially available smartphone. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 was the first foldable phone with Samsung-developed UDC (under-display camera) technology, since then it has only been available for foldable. That could change next year as a questionable rumor suggests the Galaxy S26 Ultra has an Under Display camera.
A tipster kro_roe says that the Galaxy S26 Ultra display prototype has an invisible selfie camera hole, indicating the possibility of a UDS under-display camera. If this rumor turns out to be true, it will be a huge leap in the smartphone industry, but now the question is how.
But this could happen as a previous report claimed that the Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G could be equipped with Color Filter on Encapsulation (COE) technology for its OLED screen.
Both the UDS and CoE technology were launched alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphone OLED screen in 2021. Plus, the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 6 also uses an OLED screen featuring Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technology with UDS.
As the name suggests, the under display camera is behind the rumored Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technology for the Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G’s OLED screen. It could be hidden behind a circular area that is only partially covered by the display sub-pixels, and as a result, it could capture light and create photos while being nearly invisible.
It is worth noting that the inherent problem of UDC technology is that the sensors hidden behind the display have low resolution and they capture less light than traditional cameras. So how is this different from existing UDC solutions? That’s a puzzle.
Earlier, Digital Chat Station reported that Samsung is considering a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.5″ sensor size, which could come with next year’s flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Samsung is rolling out the One UI 8.5 Beta 3 update for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. This latest update is available in Germany, India, South Korea, the UK, and the US, and will be released in more countries soon. Users reported that the Now Briefing does not display after the Beta, which has been resolved. Plus, it improved the screen lagging issue when using Live Effect in the gallery.
In addition, the beta release also includes improvements to battery life. The issue of excessive power consumption when certain apps are running has now been fixed. For Galaxy S25 users waiting for the stable version, Beta 3 will feel like a significant upgrade.

Samsung will soon add more models to the One UI 8.5 beta program testing phase. According to a company official, the stable One UI 8.5 upgrade version will be launched in the first quarter of next year.

Earlier news reports that the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G smartphone will sport a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display that features a 120Hz refresh rate. It could be powered by the Exynos 1680 processor, a 5000mAh battery with 45W fast charge, and might run Android 16 (One UI 8.x) software out of the box.
Other than these, it could feature a triple rear camera setup, may feature a 50MP main camera.. Whereas the front side could have a 32MP selfie shooter.
