Samsung is all set to launch the all-new Galaxy S25 series smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Elite on January 22. Ahead of the launch now new input says the company will launch the dynamic Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim handset Q2 this year with exciting features.

GizmoChina writer @ZionsAnvin says that Samsung could launch the new Galaxy S25 Slim in May 2025. This leak matches previous rumors that Samsung will likely unveil the Galaxy S25 Slim in the second quarter of this year.

Samsung is set to hold the Galaxy Unpacked launch event to unveil some products in addition to the Galaxy S25 series on January 22. It seems that the OEM will directly tease the Galaxy S25 Slim through its official Samsung channels. Let’s wait for Samsung’s steps in this matter.

Galaxy S25 Slim expected features

Previous leaks suggest that the device may come with a 6.7-inch, Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution as well as 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and more.

It may also feature an optimized under-display fingerprint solution. For the rear camera, the device may use a 200MP primary lens, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 50MP telephoto camera. There could be a 12MP front-facing selfie cam for impressive portraits.

The device may also use a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip paired with 12GB RAM. It could bring three storage variants: 256GB, and 512 GB similar to the Galaxy S25+. Regarding battery, the phone will likely use a 4700mAh to 5000mAh battery cell and a 45W fast charger. 

Talking about its thickness, the first of a kind of Samsung, the S25 Slim may launch with a thickness of only 6.6 mm, a thin design, 0.6mm thinner than the standard Galaxy S25. You can check out what to expect from Galaxy Unpacked 2025, to be held on January 22 in San Jose, California, HERE.

Samsung is preparing to release its next major software update, One UI 8.5, which is expected to arrive next month with the Galaxy S26 series. Testing of the initial beta builds of this update has already begun, and new information suggests that Samsung is planning a significant upgrade to Game Booster+ in One UI 8.5.

Game Booster+ is the tool that improves gaming performance and controls on Galaxy phones. According to information via Samsung Community, the One UI 8.5 update with Game Booster+ will bring many new features, including Gamepad Touch Mapping, CPU and GPU Settings, Fast-forward Game Intros, and more.

The Gamepad Touch Mapping is one of the biggest additions, which allows you to control even touch-only games with the pad.

Moreover, this upcoming Game Booster+ update will replace the “Turn on Game Booster GPU Settings” with CPU and GPU Settings. Gamers can tweak their CPU and GPU for game-specific performance optimization.

Last but not least, One UI 8.5 also brings the Fast-forward Game Intros videos option in the Game Booster+,  which lets users play much faster, so players can start gaming almost right away. 

Currently, these features are only available on  Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra phones running One UI 8.5.

Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25  Plus, and Galaxy S25  Ultra users are currently testing the new One UI 8.5 features through the Beta Program, ahead of the official release. Now, new reports suggest that Samsung may soon roll out the One UI 8.5 Beta 4 update for the Galaxy S25 series.

A reliable tipster has discovered a new One UI 8.5 beta build, along with a corresponding changelog, for the Galaxy S25 series. The build number is ending ZZAB, which means Samsung is currently testing it internally. This indicates that the Korean tech giant is preparing a new beta update for these S series phones.

According to reports, One UI 8.5 will bring major upgrades to Bixby. Additionally, a bug that occurs when clicking on the search history in the phone app will be fixed in an upcoming beta version.

In addition, it can resolve the issue of calls switching to the device speaker in certain situations when using a Bluetooth headset. In addition, an issue has been fixed in the upcoming beta build where there was a problem pasting phone numbers into the keypad after clicking on a call link.
