Galaxy Z Fold 5 March 2025 update

Samsung is enhancing the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 security segments with the January 2025 update. The company is rolling out the latest software update in batches. It will take some days to approach all the eligible smartphone users in this market.

The update mainly brings the January 2025 security patch that eliminates 30 CVEs major privacy exploits and 22 Samsung-specific vulnerabilities. Thus, installing the new update on your device will unlock an efficient and bug-free experience.

We suggest all  Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 device users keep their phones up-to-date with security patches. These standard rollouts often work as a baseline build for a major upgrade. The One UI 7 version is ready to enter the Galaxy world with interesting features.

Coming back, the  Galaxy Z Flip 5 and  Galaxy Z Fold 5 are now receiving the January 2025 update. The former smartphone is fetching the update with the One UI F731USQS5DXLF version while the latter is getting the firmware with the F946USQS5DXLF build. The update is available for Verizon-locked models in the US and the company will expand it soon.

This update doesn’t bring any major changes to the foldables. But the latest firmware is bringing some new security improvements. It will eventually boost the overall Galaxy device’s health and make it more reliable for users.

Hence, install the new firmware as soon as it reaches your device. In case you have not received the update alert yet then visit Settings > Software Updates. Now tap on the Download and Install and let the device search for the newest versions.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has now appeared on Geekbench, revealing that the company is carrying out pre-launch tests and preparations for its new device. The latest listing also solves the chipset mystery that has been in rumours for a long time.

According to the Geekbench 6.4 listing, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 US variant with model number SM-F966U achieved  3022 points on single-core and 9307 points on multi-core tests.

The US variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has appeared on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Also, the phone is expected to run on Android 16-based One UI 8 operating system

Being a flagship folding handset, all these things sound quite good. Nevertheless, the actual performance will only be known once the device is officially launched in the consumer market. Inputs reveal that the chipset is clocked at 3.53 GHz base frequency.

Apart from this, the Korean tech giant can launch the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 around July this year. Also, an affordable flip model can also be introduced along with both the devices.
